We rented a cottage nearby not really knowing about the waterfall so imagine our surprise! We could hear it thundering before we even got to the little park around it! Just beautiful Its set in a small park with seating, great for picnics. Lots of great parking and open clean public toilets. A small coffee shop at the gate with... More
I have seen the Torc Waterfall before but it's nothing in comparison with the Glencar Waterfall! It's located next to a beautiful lake and in a stunning area. Great for hiking, walking and taking pictures!
My husband and I visited Glencar today...It was very busy and parking was difficuly but after a short walk we got to the waterfall..It is beautiful...Lovely clean grounds and very peaceful..Lovely setting by the lake also..There is a coffee shop and toilets on site to and a little playground for kids.
Pleaseant well maintained place but not Niagara. .. it's no trek, just a short 5 min walk from car park. Playground for kids and nice cafe for adults. They should develop a nice mountain walk like Connemara park, then it would be worth the 20 minute drive off the main road.

Should you wish to stay for a while there are lovely views of the lough from the park and they is a good cafe nearby for... More
