What a fantastic way to see and embrace the beauty if west cork! We had a breathtaking hike around the cliffs on the marked trails and it is highly recommended to participate in if you ever get a chance! Be sure to take plenty of water and a nice picnic as there are plenty of places to rest and enjoy... More

The views along Sheep's Head Peninsula are second to none. I have been to the ring of Kerry, and am staying on the Beara peninsula, however Sheep's Head is completely wild and untainted and untamed. It is ridiculously hard to navigate though and if I was a local that's exactly how I would want it to remain. During tourist season... More

Travelled here with a group including children ranging in age from 9 to 14. We walked from the cafe to the lighthouse and back. . Spectacular views and a lovely relatively easy walk with plenty of nooks and cranny to keep the kids interested. The road on the way out to the head is interesting but the views are worth... More

We did the Poet's Way route (~8 miles and ~4 hours). Walk was more intermediate level - it is January and very wet/boggy with a view detours required as a result. Good distance and the views were incredible. Save some energy for the final 30-40 minute stint which is all uphill - with breathtaking viewpoint for reward. We rated 8.5/10... More

The walks along this peninsula are breathtaking, on a sunny day you can see for miles over two amazing bays and three peninsulas. You can start on a hill above Bantry town and walk all the 25 miles to the end over a few days. Just make sure to have plenty memory in your camera or phone. Unmissable.

A beautiful drive, wonderful views especially on a good day and roads too narrow for a large tour bus! Some interesting places en route and a lovely coffee shop near the end of the road. Very peaceful and unspoiled! Well worth the drive!

Nice scenery on the drive out to the point. Raining and windy the day we went out so we couldn't hike out to the lighthouse but would certainly try next time. Beautiful country views and small villages on the way.

Once we found the carpark, the markers along the route were excellent! Amazing views... completely unspoilt landscape. (More help to locate the carpark at the top of the hill would be helpful because that narrow road makes you feel as though you've gone wrong)

From Bantry it's an long, idyllic drive through hedges, pastures and along the coast out to the old lighthouse. Even on weekends it's not too crowded and the scenery in all directions is spectacular. The walk down to the lighthouse is well worn, dry and easy but also exhilarating enough to feel you've gotten some exercise.(4Km RT) It can be very... More
