You can find this down a very narrow lane near Ballyferriter on the Dingle peninsula (my passengers were convinced I was driving up someone's private drive). There's not much left but you can see the outline of the buildings and there is a large carved cross slab. There is parking for a small number of cars and no entrance fee.

Turn south at the B&B Pub at the bridge and junction to Wine strand. Follow road for about 200m on right. This was a simple site but unique due to the engraved stones. It's free and worth a stop as it is right of sales head drive on the way to BallyFerriter from Dingle.

This is a really cool monastic site, but it can be difficult to find. The google map location of it takes you to a different area. It also goes by Reask rather than Riasc (Irish word). It's very peaceful and quiet here, so take it all in and enjoy the views and history.

An Riasc is worth a visit if you are walking the Saints Way or driving near Ballyferriter on the Dingle Pennisula. Allot 30 minutes or so and it would be helpful to read a guide book or go with a tour guide to explain what you are seeing.

Early Christian settlement which is very well looked after and tended. Interesting to see the layout of the settlement as it once was. Very quiet when we got there so we had plenty of time to look around. Definitely worth visiting.

Loved this particular site because there were no other tourists there flocking the place. It was difficult to find [the sign had been knocked down in a recent storm] but it was so worth the adventure of locating it! Beautiful ruins and standing stones.

The other reviews have done a very good job of describing the site. I will only add that the sign is very difficult to see. If you are traveling from Dingle to Ballyferriter, it is past the Gallarus Oratory on the left hand side. It is well worth the detour.

A cool monastary ruins! If driving Slae head drive it is hard to find but is right right after the Tigh Bhric pub at the unmarked but paved alley. The only marker is a small stone at the entrance that has "Reasc" carved in it but only viewable if driving the Slea head in the wrong direction (counter clockwise).

We have driven past this monument many times over the 21 years we have been coming to Dingle and it was not until this year on the Dingle Walking Festival (February 13th-14 - Valentine's weekend) that we got to look around it. We were shown around by the charming and knowledgeable Mr Colm Bambury, a registered local guide. He made... More
