Heading from dingle we stopped here , it's beautiful here even when the weather was damp , as stop at the South Pole inn for a bite to eat , great food and not as busy if your heading to dingle

An awe inspiring glacial lake.....it feels like the beginning of time....you can walk up slopes of the valley and over the top of the mountain to Castlegregory the other side.....as you come back to Anascaul take a well deserved refreshment break at Joan's while away café....if you are lucky you maybe in the village on one of the soiree evenings.....Joan... This is definitely worth a trip. If you are driving up or down the Dingle peninsula, this is worth a side trip.

the scale of this valley stays with one long after they leave. take a long walk and feel what life here has been like from the start of western civilization and beyond.

We travelled during May 2016 walking the Kerry Camino amazing walk and beautiful countryside it shows Kerry in all its glory

A nice way to spend a couple of hours. We just walked up to the waterfall because of time and weather demands, but had great views of the lake and glacial valley. Nice amble before a pint at the South Pole Inn.

We were shown a map with a trail next to a river to the lake. We never found that trail, so walked on one lane roads for 4 km to get to a viewpoint of the lake. It is a nice looking lake in the gap between two mountains. I could have walked to the lake, but it looked like... More

What a find this was. Beautiful lake and views. Lovely walk around the lake and if you don't wan't to walk or hike to it you can drive it via a small farm lane. Beautiful spot for a hike and picnic!

Found this place with the help of a fiend who lives in Anascaul. Absolutely beautiful. The lake can be approached by a small farm lane (please close the gate behind you), There is a small parking area and a single picnic table that is rarely use as there is a local superstition that the lake is bottomless and if you...
