Truly an underestimated fort, both in design and historical importance, and chosen for that very reason by the courageous curator of the art masterpieces of the Marche and his equally brave helpers to store these treasures, and many others from Venice and other provinces, practically under the noses of the Nazis who were raiding museums for Hitler.
