a small and beautiful place to visit, near veliko tarnovo. the guide tell you a few things about the cave in bulgarian and also in french language and after that on the short way you can go alone and visit the cave.

For those used to exploring caves, the Bacho Kiro one may lack spectacular views. It is still nice to walk through the galleries but it doesn't offer much thrill. It may be recommended for those who need a first immersion into caves. What I enjoyed...More

A bit disappointed from the Bulgarian tourist association. The only guidance inside the cave are small signs with lack of info. Only one recreation scene of early men at the entrance. The second (the longer) path inside, was closed and it was only for planned...More

Amazing place to visit. Rural and totally unspoilt. Lights come on so you can see where you're going. Incredible caves and stairways to upper chambers. Slippery here and there - so long as you have a commonsense attitude to self-responsibility, this is a fabulous place...More

Very pleasantly surprised - We spent 3+ hours here and were expecting a flying visit! The monastery is of significant historic importance to the Bulgarians and very pretty. Weddings and baptisms happen here even today. Free entrance. We paid for a guide. The caves are...More

The cave itself is not big and you can't really meet the bats, but it allows you to get as close as possible to the Stalactite.

From V.T turned right before Dyanavo and dropped into a car park space near the Monestry. Walked through there and along the river path, slightly uphill to the waterfall. From there we went up some more steps to the cave entrance. Eight/nine Lev for two...More

Great cave within lovely settings. We visited it with two young children and it wasn’t too much of a problem (no pram access). Start of a nice walk in the hills as well.

A large cave, with many interesting formations. Bats fly freely and can be seen even within reach, but be reasonable with your camera flash. A minus: no English guide and very few explanations. Take the trail on the left of cave (as you exit), marked...More

The picturesque cave has 300m long equipped with light and short exposition. It makes sense to visit together with Dryanovo monastery. From the cave you can climb to the terrace with panoramic views of the monastery and the surrounding mountains. It took us 15 minutes...More

Let me start by saying that I've been to many caves including the Cango Caves, which is one of the most impressive caves in the world, so my hopes for this cave were probably a bit high. Nonetheless, this is still a big cave with...More
