Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bacho Kiro Cave is one of the best caves in Bulgaria. Go and enter this place, which is near to Dryanovo monastery. Dryanovo waterfall is also a really very beautiful place like Dryanovo ecopath. The pics are from 20th of October 2019.

Near the Dryanovo Monastery, the cave is one of the largest in Bulgaria. The interior is well defined for viewing. You can view it in a guide group every 1 hour. The fee is symbolic, and the guides not only tell you the learned text, they explain everything and answer your questions.
The transition is easy, the route is not very long. It is also suitable for children.

We are so pleased we found this hidden gem! It is only 4 lev per person and there are two walks. a long and short one. Short one is 25 minutes approx. the floor is slippy in places so wear good shoes. It is a bit steep getting up to the caves entrance but there is a handrail. Inside there are some artefacts and some boards written in English explaining the history of the caves. The lights come on as you enter each section and there is information abut the bats that are protected and live there. It really is a wonderful cool escape on a hot sunny day also. Teamed with a visit to the Monastery and waterfalls, this is a real treat.

A bit disappointed from the Bulgarian tourist association. The only guidance inside the cave are small signs with lack of info. Only one recreation scene of early men at the entrance. The second (the longer) path inside, was closed and it was only for planned groups.
Be prepared for mud and wet ground. Also slippery floor.

We were aiming for the Dryanovo monastery when we saw the signs to the cave. Although we're not really into caves, this one was easy to access. The short trip took us 20min inside and especially the "concert hall" was funny to play with. However, once you get outside (and given you're fit enough!) take the stairs uphill to the panoramic benches. That's the sweetest spot with view over the monastery and the surrounding area. Lovely!

Bacho Kiro's pond is unique. We went down the long route and looked at great halls. The music hall is impressive. I did not like the fact that people destroyed the walls of the cave with coins to be lucky :(

Amazing place to visit. Rural and totally unspoilt. Lights come on so you can see where you're going. Incredible caves and stairways to upper chambers. Slippery here and there - so long as you have a commonsense attitude to self-responsibility, this is a fabulous place to visit!

For those used to exploring caves, the Bacho Kiro one may lack spectacular views. It is still nice to walk through the galleries but it doesn't offer much thrill. It may be recommended for those who need a first immersion into caves. What I enjoyed most was discovering a group of bats sleeping upside down in a little cavity.
