Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped off here as it sounded rather good but we were disappointed. The car park was surrounded by cheap 'market'-type stalls selling plastic unicorns and dream catchers etc. Inside was a restaurant with very slow service. We liked the little church but wished we hadn't driven out of our way to visit.

The complex not only houses the Monastery, which is well preserved and holds many historical relics, but also the Bacho Kiro Cave, an eco trail, a park and a tavern where you can rest and eat well before you leave.

Been there probably 15 years ago. What a disappointment. The place is obviously run by greed nowadays. Nothing holy there anymore. The monastery itself has been turned into a car park and trading grounds. Wouldn't visit again.

There is plenty to see here for adults and kids. The monastery and buildings are beautiful and they have a little farm with goats, chickens, peacocks and other birds near a small park which is lovely to sit and have a picnic at. It is a bit of a steep walk up to the cave and very steep and slippery once in the cave but it is worth a visit. The 'long' tour is only available to large groups as you must have a guide to do this. I'd recommend a torch and jackets for visiting the cave too. We followed signs from the cave for a 'fort' up through the woods. Unless you want to walk through the woods I wouldn't bother as it is only an over grown foundation of what used to be there with no interpretation at all.

The Dryanovo Monastery was built in the 12th century and renovated in the 19th. The place is very quiet and nice (even a river flows near and creates a waterfall on the promenade to the Bacho Kiro Cave). You should not expect for a lot from the monastery itself, but if you're a nature lover you will like the surroundings.

All was easily accessible apart from downstairs part of the museum,(Mother walks with a stick) but plenty at ground level to see, car park was 1lev and close to the stalls and entrance, car park attendant friendly and helpful, and all other staff, had a very enjoyable afternoon, this was marred by one of the Priests in the Monastery, the fat one with the miserable face, a very rude man, who was shouting about the English when we looked through a open door he had forgotten to close. Its a shame as otherwise would have given 5 stars instead of 4.

Unique monastery! The place is very rechargeable. Shows our stories and the struggle for freedom of our ancestors from Turkish slavery. Near the monastery is the Bacho Kiro cave.

Wow. Do not miss this place. It is free to enter and beautiful peaceful place to walk around. We were the only ones there as we arrived so early. We didn't have a guide to take us around however we had lots of information. Not to be missed.

Lovely place with huge historical significance to the Bulgarians.

Free entry and we paid a guide to tell us about things briefly.
Gift shops and restaurant nearby and see other listings on Trip Advisor for amazing caves and cliff walks on same site.
Plenty of parking for 1 Lev.
