Just so enjoyed the history, from the outset it is detailed from when you are allowed in to expectations of behaviour and rule abiding. Very interactive and a good day out experience. Worth the visit.

An insight to days gone by and the treatment poor people endured lots of information boards around and hands on stuff to do. Even has a restraint chair and mortuary very macabre but fascinating

Concise and well explained social, political and cultural background to the Poor Laws, Industrialisation and Enclosures absent from the Museum. Perhaps they have funding problems?...More

Very interesting stroll around this museum, but we were told that more buildings will be open during the year as they are currently occupied by (mostly) council departments.

Great for adults and children alike - historical facts and artifacts really bring the workhouse to life.
