Love the walk from Chesterfield to here. Welcome halfway point before return where sweet machine hot chocolate is available along with conveniences atop the Wildlife Centre Shop items. Excellent building with a large car park oposite for anyone starting their canal journey from this point or useful meeting up point. The building is about half way on the current navigable canal between Tapton Lock and Staveley basin. Reasonably priced and good quality snacks...More

The best way to relax is a nice peaceful walk along the chesterfield canal,pot in to the “Hub” for friendly chat and refreshments.

Beautiful relaxing walk along this stretch of canal. Lovely coffee shop where the canal boat trips leave from as well

We live nearby and while walking our dog on the canal called in for tea and cake. It was very good homemade food, we will be going again, very nice people dog freindly lots of seating outsideby the canal. A lovely place

We watched the lock empty and fill up whilst we sat eating ice cream and drinking tea at this lovely little 'stop' in chesterfield- lovely clean toilets and then on our way. Great

Yes they do rides but not very often, but the canal is worth going to if you like a relaxing walk, there is lots of improvements on the canal if you walk towards stavely area there is a cafe for refreshments, good to take... More

It really depends which bit of the canal you are trying to access? You could park by Arnold Clarkes if you want to access it at Tapton Lock Visitor Centre, or there is a car park by The Mill Pub in Brimington. A bit further... More
