A beautiful big sandy beach. You can drive your car on to the beach. Gorgeous sand, kids loved it. National Trust members get on with the car for free.

Portstewart Strand As a National Trust member I went to Portstewart Strand yesterday for a visit. I was taking some snaps when the young chap sitting in the front seat of the Beach Shop & Surf Hire van got out, he approached me and asked...More

Massive sandy beach, goes on for ever, clean, lifeguards, bring your car and park on the sand. Ain't cheap to park but you could stay here all day. Very child-friendly.

We visited on a reasonably warm Sunday afternoon and the beach was busy but not packed. We had to drive quite a distance along the beach to park as so many people had commandeered large spaces beside their cars, filling them with seats and buckets...More

We spent a very happy four+ hours on the beach which we paid to access by car (£6.50). There are lifeguards on duty in the summer months and the beach is clean. Waste bins are provided. There is a cafe/restaurant on site while ice cream...More

What a glorious golden sandy beach that seems to go forever. You can park on the beach. It’s safe swimming with Life Guards on duty. Perfect for families.

This is my favourite beach in NI. The National Trust do a great job in keeping it clean which is so important. Busy when we visited but a great place to walk, swim or surf. The life guard on duty made it feel much safer...More

I was disgusted at having to pay the National Trust £6.50 to get access to the beach. They are a disgrace charging to use our beautiful area.

The finest sand you will find anywhere on earth...... Another wonder on the north coast. The best things in life are usually free and natural this nearly applies to Portstewart strand at least it did until, for some reason the national trust started to interfere...More

What can I say! When the sun shines in NI, load up the car and head to Portstewart Strand. Yes, you have to pay to take your car onto the beach (free for National Trust members), but the sheer convenience of decanting the picnic rugs,...More

Can't see why not. Nice big beach there. Once you leave no trace all should be good.
