First came here many years ago, but it had been done up since then, making for a much better visitor experience. Explored the ruins, went up the tower to take in the view, and had a look around the small museum. Very good, and a little oasis of calm in the midst of Birkenhead.

Unexpected treasure. Went due to rainy day cancelling plans. Lovely little place. Free and ideal for kids. Costumes to try, puppets to play with and art work to have a go at. All in great condition. Naval exhibition run on site, but separately, with a knowledgeable staff / volunteer. Few staff on site, but didn't come out of the office,... More

Historical and very interesting one of the oldest sites on Merseyside, was the first ferry crossing to Liverpool ran by the monks from the Priory.

Great couple of hours with a fantastic tour guide named Mark who was a fountain of Knowledge. His passion for the place shined through and his knowledge about the Priory was just what we needed. Thanks Mark...Great Job.

Terrific place to visit near the riverside in Birkenhead next to Cammell Lairds. The buildings feel ancient and there is a wonderful view of the river and Liverpool if you climb the stairs to the top of the Tower. Always open at weekends not always mid-week.

A lovely restored church with over a 1000 years of history Tied in with the monks tunnels and King Henry 8th dredging the adjacent cemetery turned shipyard, it is just amazing.

The most amazing and interesting place that tells the history of the monks and there is a small museum showing pieces excavated and the church is stunning, so much so we are getting married there this year, Absolutely well worth the visit.

Had a fantastic visit to Birkenhead Priory. We were greeted by a friendly face and given some brilliant information on the priory. With three kids under 10 in tow and lots of rain we still had a great time. Lots of information available in the chapel about the Priory and Birkenhead history. Loved the connection to the Masseys of Dunham... More

This is the oldest priory in wirral. The monks were the first to travel across the Mersey in a boat to get to liverpool. A very warm welcome awaits you. Full of history.
