Overview
More
The Causeway Coastal Route is a designated scenic tourist drive around the coast of Northern Ireland between the cities of Belfast and Londonderry. The route follows the coast and takes you to several major tourist attractions along the way including The Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Dunluce Castle, The Old Bushmills Whiskey Distillery and the Glens of Antrim. There are also nine scenic loop roads that run off the main Coastal Route. These are: Islandmagee, Slemish Mountain, Glenariff, Glendun, Torr Road, Glenshesk, Bann Valley, Binevenagh Mountain and the Roe Vally. One of these (Torr Scenic Road)is quite narrow so do be careful if your not used to our small roads, one tip is to pull in your wing mirrors on the Torr Road.

We traveled this amazing route when visiting Portrush. Definitely bring your camera! We lucked out and had a relatively clear day, so were able to take some great pictures! Be sure to stop and enjoy the scenery.

Breath taking views. Able to stop any time for pictures rather than a bus tour. We drove to the Giants Causeway

Even though you're driving on the other side of the road, the views are incredible and you can stop quite often so the driver can enjoy as well.

We took a coach tour up the coastal route from Belfast all the way to Dunluce Castle on a coach. Even on a stormy day (wind and periodic rain), the views of the rocky coast were beautiful.

Good views when you see them. Bushes are overgrown so your view is blocked very often. NI drivers do not care for safety or speed so driver cannot enjoy the view. Road markings are terrible and sign postage is terrible.
