Worth driving through the main street of Kawa Kawa to see, etc. even on the dreariest of days. See the photos.

What more can one say? You don't just go to the toilet, you need to stop and take photos. Then you realise the ceramic idea has kept up throughout the town. A must see

The only thing worth seeing in Kawakawa - defo worth staying if you pass the town going north. A quick stop is only required.

Designed by the artist Hundertwasser, these toilets are something to see and use. In fact, they have become so popular there is a bus park out the back and a small park which welcomes freedom campers. The design is very Gaudi, but unlike the cathedral in Barcelona, these toilets are finished. The inside is totally left field with large cubicles... More

Stop for a break and look at the fascinating Hundertwasser creations at the same time! Intricate patterns and shapes and colours reflect the spirit of this world renowned artist who lived in the area for a time. A lot of the street has also adopted the creative ceramics-including a wonderful seat. Take time to walk around , look and enjoy... More

In the middle of this small town that could be part of a western movie, you'll find Hundertwasser's toilets. Definitely a place to stop.

When I was told by the tour guide we are going to see public toilets I thought it was bizarre and had a giggle about it, but I'm glad we went as it was the most unusual public toilet I have ever seen. It's actually a tourist attraction. I couldn't believe my eyes. There are little windows from the ladies... More

Certainly worth a look if passing by on highway 1, and worth a modicum of detour if nearby. Colourful, almost feels a shame to'use' them as nature intended. Not much worth seeing elsewhere in town though.
