We had the best time on the river with Wellington Rafting, taking on the rapids and taking in all of the beautiful waterfalls and untouched nature along the way. Hamish was amazing from start to finish, preparing us before we got onto the water, hyping us up for the whitewater and making us feel calm is the higher grade sections. He also made really good ham sandwiches for lunch! I couldn't recommend this trip enough, it is the best way to experience Te Awa Kairangi. Thanks guys!

My friends and I booked a last minute rafting trip for 3, literally on the day (were even a bit late) but Hamish and his partner were so accomodating and kind towards us. They didn’t charge us, or even cut down our rafting time even tho we were late. Hamish was hilarious, he was making us laugh the whole time. The service was A1, the best I’ve ever had which was just the cherry on top of the great experience we had with the actual rafting. It was so much fun, we all LOVED it, and can’t wait to go back to experience grade 3 next time. I definitely would recommend this activity to others and would 110% go back if I were ever in Wellington again. So much fun, so much adrenaline and so much laughter.

Went with a small group to Te Awa Kairangi on a cold, drizzly June morning. Hamish and crew were absolute professionals and we were well looked after throughout; the gear they provided was ****** WARM! As we made our way down the river, it was difficult to believe we were still so close to Wellington City - you get the sense you've been picked up and put down way out in the middle of nowhere. Already talking about the next trip, can't recommend Wellington Rafting enough.

A huge thank you to Hamish and his crew for giving our rangitahi the best possible adventure ever. From the skills training exercises to being on the river rafting helped these young people overcome challenges. You made the shy ones smile, the anxious ones achieved and overall they all absolutely loved the whole experience. The team is professional, supportive and engaging. Will definitely be booking many more trips over the next year.

For our work xmas party this year we had an afternoon out with Hamish and his crew on the Hutt river. Due to a lack of rain lately the river level was low but Hamish and co went out of their way to make sure we had a blast anyway. Good times were had by all, feedback from our guys was very positive and the BBQ they put on was first rate. Hamish is a great host and goes out of his way to make sure everyone leaves stoked.

Awesome experience!!! Felt entirely safe the whole time with the tour guide but the rafting was still engaging and challenging to just the right level. The guide is a legend and added a really authentic touch with commentary on the landscape and the river. He also showed us some especially cool spots that we stopped off at.
I felt closer and more in sync with the people I did it with afterwards because we all had to work together to get the boat going in the right direction and we all experienced the splashes, speed and getting stuck together. This would be a great option for a team-day for any business, from corporate to hospo!

Fantastic afternoon out on the grade 3 rafting trip.
The rapids were a proper adrenaline buzz and we felt so safe with Hamish’s guidance. He was so knowledgable and made the trip so fun! Very much enjoyed the hot drink and treats half way through 😁 We recommend everyone goes and gives this a go as it is definitely the best activity in the Wellington region.

I wanted a NZ adventure experience before moving back to the US. Hamish(the owner) and his two guides Jay and Alex delivered. If you are looking for some fun in the outdoors where you can get away from the sounds of civilization, then this is a must do. I went with a friend in a two man duckie. Wellington rafting everything we needed including clothing, training and lunch. We were afraid it was going to be too chilly because it’s winter, but with the gear on and paddling like crazy, it was perfect!!!

Excellent rafting trip for everyone. Beautiful day, river and scenery, totally serene (except for the rapids!).
Thanks Hamish and our guide Dan - you made it even more fun.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a great way to spend a day in Wellington who likes a bit of nature and adventure.

Took my 6,14 and 16 year old grandchildren for a raft with Wellington Rafting. They loved it. So much they are already talking about wanting to do it again. Very professional company. We felt we were in good hands from the start to the finish. Would highly recommend this to anyone that wants fun and beautiful scenery a long the way. Thanks Hamish and Caroline
