Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We go there at least once a month, sometimes as a couple and sometimes in a group visit. They take telephone bookings, and we pick up and pay for our tickets on arrival (useful if it's likely to be busy). Two cinemas there, comfortable double sofa-style seats with cushions. Good movies, including cultural offerings, e.g. documentaries, ballet, opera. Friendly, helpful staff, spotlessly clean bathrooms.
A convivial cafe with a selection of freshly made cabinet food, teas, coffees, wine and beer - you can consume it there or take it into the cinema with you. and there's a "loyalty" card system for the coffees. Lots of special offers and preview showings, and can be booked for fund-raising events, etc. The only local cinema we visit - we can't fault it!
However, parking is sometimes difficult. The cinema doesn't have its own car park, apart from a few disabled/staff spaces. On-street parking is quite limited, especially when the nearby shops are open and the school is in session; the small public car park nearby is often full as well.

An armchair or settee as your seat. Drinks allowed in the auditorium. Small so need to book to ensure a seat.

We like going here as it’s small, has good car parking, friendly staff, comfy seats, and nice coffees and ice creams. There is a very limited selection of food, but it is tasty. Today I’d hoped to see the Avengers, and I’d booked online yesterday. It was pretty much booked out, so we had front seats, which I don’t mind, but, and it’s a big but, we had seats right at the end and couldn’t see the screen properly. After 5 minutes of trying to watch the previews, I had a sore neck from twisting to try to see the screen. It wasn’t an option to move, as the cinema was packed, so we had to leave. The staff were really good about it and gave us two complimentary tickets so that we can go back another time, but it was very disappointing. I suggest that those seats are sold with a warning that there is a limited view, or they are sold cheaper than the usual $17.50. It’s quite a to to pay for a movie, but I was happy to pay it for what I thought would be sitting in a nice comfy seat.

Very disappointing service if you book online and then have to cancel. Soon after booking and paying for tickets online last week our grandson became ill. My husband left 2 voicemail messages to cancel the tickets. He clearly requested a call back. Those calls were not returned. A few days later I looked at the refund policy. There was a field that said click here to contact. The contact was an email address however there was no response to my email. I can accept that we may not be entitled to a refund but the very poor customer service is totally unacceptable

Only went for the cafe but unfortunately the cafe was not worth going to. Slow service and cold food

Highly recommend for intimate friendly environment.
Cafe not so inviting. We go regularly to the movies but find the cafe only good for drinks.

Seen a few movies here and really impressed with the coffee and service. Comfortable sofas are so different to watch movies on but make it a special experience. Watched Hunt for the Wilderpeople here most recently - just awesome.

I love this cinema it's a boutique cinema with less seats than the over sized ones.
You can grab a bite to eat plus a drink in the cafe or take it in the movies with you. They serve alcohol and coffee plus the normal movie treats
Parking can be a problem but we seem to always find one

A small area which I honestly did not think was particularly well planned, seating wise. We felt too close to others, who also felt the same.

I love the location of this little boutique cinema as you can walk around the inlet and then take in a coffee and a movie. However don't go hungry as there is limited food choice - we went for lunch and there was only a couple of fritters and sausage rolls available as well as limited slices. Not a one off as this has been the case on other visits.
And rather pricey too for what you got.
We were even directed to the cafe down the road to go and eat at if we wanted something different. The cinema has a lovely outlook and relaxing atmosphere with a good number of seating - which i think they could really utilise and capture a buzzing cafe vibe with healthy food options, which at present they are missing out on.
