Just sit in the water and enjoy the serenity of the Caribbean ocean. Just relaxing and sunshine make this a great retreat from the hustle-n-bustle of city life.

During the day there is not much going on the melacon - I thought it would liven up at night but only a few vendors, don't recall music etc.

This is a nice paved walkway along the harbor/beach in Esperanza. It's a little town and a short walk but very scenic and romantic. The ocean with moored boats sits on one side, little bars and restaurants line the other side. There are some vendors that set up in the evenings but they are pretty high quality and it's fun... The Malecon is such a cool hangout. I have to say I was a little disappointed that the lights across the street that were lit every night on my last visit were not on. This contributes to the charm of the area.

My third trip to Vieques and definitely, the best digs yet. Cool modern vibe, everything here is clean and new. Nice continental breakfast every morning. Lovely outdoor seating. The hotel offers the amenities you would expect, ice and ice chest for the beach along with sunbrellas and beach chairs. The pool is small, secluded, and a bit shady, however, it... More

This "boardwalk" area is a sidwalk area that looks out over the ocean, with wonderful resturants and small shops across the street.

Lots of hustlers running about trying to sell you trouble. The restaurants are great, drink in moderation. i had a few too many, a punk on bike gave it try. He accidentally landed on his head. I got a laugh, as did our party. But the local law and kid thought it was a bit excessive. He went to jail,... More

We enjoyed our walk along the Malecon, but don't assume it will be like Havana's Malecon. I'd say this one is a quarter mile. We did see a charming black pig running alone a nearby street.

Great place to go for that tropical vibe any time of the day. However, in the evening the place comes alive. Yes, the most touristy place on the island but still low keyed. Several bars and restaurants with many artists booths.
