With so many options around, this lake park gave us amazing views in the woods, with a clear walking trail along the lakeside. Pic nic facilities available.

We drove our 30 ft motorhome to the lake and found the other sites were filled with mainly tents. The gravel washboard road leading to the lake was an experience. We lost cell reception just past Pemberton. The park has pit toilets, tap water and...More

Just got back from a camping trip here. First off the camp ground was very well maintained and clean. The ranger was extremely friendly and helpful. The lake was so beautiful and clear and thankfully not busy. The 15km drive down a gravel road I...More

We went to Birkenhead for a couple nights and it was awesome. The campsite was great and the lake is beautiful. There's a nice hike (pretty steep, 180 meters up, but doable) with a great view, as well as a 4km trail walk around the...More

The provincial park is beautiful but the staff really ruined it for me and my family. I thought the park operators were power tripping until I met the "manager" who put a new definition to the phrase. It was similar to the bad experience we...More

We just got back from Birkenhead Lake Provincial Park campground -- my husband and I and our two teenage kids -- and while the lake and setting are stunning, this was not the camping experience we were expecting or hoping for. Large campground, 99% filled...More

After a 15km drive up a gravel road we found ourselves at Birkenhead Lake. Truly breathtaking. Hired a canoe and paddled happily for 2.5 hours. The ranger then calmly informed us of a bear in the immediate vicinity ....amazing....what a place

We rented a canoe there and went to the other side of the lake. Great views form the lake. We had a strong wind on the way back in the afternoon. If you are seeking the lonely adventure, pick another lake since there are some...More

The provincial park is great in terms of location and natural environment, however there are not enough facilities for the number of camp sites. Many sites had to walk distances to use facilities only to wait in lines or find them dirty due to the...More

ATV's aren't allowed in the park area and it isn't suitable anyway. we went in on a motorbike and got moaned at for that. But call and check as there may be some routes in the surrounding area.
