We just got back from Birkenhead Lake Provincial Park campground -- my husband and I and our two teenage kids -- and while the lake and setting are stunning, this was not the camping experience we were expecting or hoping for. Large campground, 99% filled...More

After a 15km drive up a gravel road we found ourselves at Birkenhead Lake. Truly breathtaking. Hired a canoe and paddled happily for 2.5 hours. The ranger then calmly informed us of a bear in the immediate vicinity ....amazing....what a place

Great place for friends, families, couples, everywhere to hang out. We camped for over a long weekend and it was great fun. The lake itself is crisp and clear. The surrounding camp is kept clean and well enforced to keep it so. There are so...More

Spent another 3 nights here and love this place. It's quiet. Sites are perfectly maintained. It's managed by a private contractor and the people love their job and the park. There was a campfire ban so that part was disappointing. But the beach was so...More

The park is really good with very nice camp sites. We were there in holiday times and were amazed that it wasn't booked out. There are several walkways through the forest to the beautiful lake with snow covered mountains in the distance. There is a...More

ATV's aren't allowed in the park area and it isn't suitable anyway. we went in on a motorbike and got moaned at for that. But call and check as there may be some routes in the surrounding area.
