One of very few National Trust properties in the locality, this one is worth a visit to learn how George Bernard Shaw lived and worked. It's not very grand but it's as peaceful reminder of another era.

On a summers day there are few local places to beat this quiet corner of Hertfordshire. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity which helped one of our well known writers pen for the genrations to come.

A very homely house with lots of interesting facts about George Bernard Shaw. The staff are very knowledgeable, polite and friendly. I have been to many National Trust properties and I can honestly say this is one of my favourites.

Although it is just a quite ordinary house, nothing grand, it has a good vibe and for anyone interested in GBS, worth a visit. The revolving office with day bed and old fashion typewriter in the garden, is neat too. Nearby, you can walk where...More

This is a national trust property tucked away down narrow lanes. It's got lots of history and the property is well kept. There are places to sit in the garden. Very helpful and informative attendants.
