I went to a conference here with the job, and this activity was the most fun of the whole trip. Good food, good wine, fun experience, beautiful sea views, and the most kind and friendly staff you can imagine.

Booked a Canarian cooking class. I loved it. The entourage was wonderful, open air and beach view. The teacher and his assistent were awesome. They shared the secrets of some Canarian dishes with us by using not more than 5 ingredients. On the menu: patatas arrugadas, mojo pícon, gazpacho Andaluz and paella Valenciana.

If you love cooking, eating, great views then this is the class for you. Peter our tutor chef was very engaging and welcoming. He picked us up from our hotel, and took us to the venue. The venue itself was open airy and had great views of the sea. The course took just under 4 hours and was very informative, about cooking techniques, locally produced food, and traditional Canarian dishes. There was no shortage of drinks provided, both soft and alcoholic. And at the end both students and tutor enjoyed a good meal together. Peter really took the time to engage all students in the class, we were from Scotland, but he also had people visiting from Germany, and he spoke an impressive number of languages. At the end we all got a certificate to prove we had passed the course, which was good fun! Peter even dropped us all back at the hotel. Can’t recommend this class enough.

In recent years I’ve decided to have some kind of cooking/food experience in every country I visit. What a nice surprise to find Greenpoint Cooking Academy! I saw the pictures and just knew that I had t take a class there. Outdoors with panoramic views of the beautiful blue ocean and a breeze in my hair…how could I say no?! Chef Peter pick up my friends and I on time at our resort in Taurito. On the drive to the class, we were lucky enough to have an impromptu tour/explanation of Gran Canaria while learning about Chef Peter. Upon arrival to class, we had a welcome drink and little snacks to hold us over while we received an explanation of how the day would go. After taking several cooking classes at different schools, I must say that their setup was by far the best. Each person has their own workstation with all the tools and appliances they’d need to cook each menu item independently. Chef Peter was so friendly and patient, coming around to taste test and provide individual attention/direction as needed. We prepared mojo picon, gazpacho, and a seafood paella. Everything turned out sooooo well!!! WOW! We shared the class with a couple from Poland and it’s so funny that even with a language barrier, we all understood the language of good food! ☺ What an amazing day! We’d go for an experience like this on any day!
