Took my grandchildren here for the afternoon, after a very informative canal trip into the tunnel, expertly guided by a member of staff , we had lunch on the bank of the canal. Afterwards they played on the park. Overall a lovely afternoon.

A venue with a difference. Children’s soft play area, narrow boat travel to venue. A day to remember.

Took the boat trip through the tunnel and it was fantastic, guide told us all about it and saw the part where the ventilation and work shaft is, (with water teeming in) and back out to the cafe, great trip and great people

A easy walk along the canal from Marsden station and refreshments at this very interesting major engineering site with the highest, longest and deepest tunnel from a bygone age. Also a museum and a nature walk along the valley , not difficult.

We had a fantastic walk from Slaithwaite to Marsden along the Canal, finally reaching the Standedge Tunnel and Visitor Centre. It was beautiful, with glorious sunshine watching the wildlife whilst getting a little needed exercise. Fantastic

I do not know about trips but feel that a short trip is the best if you have claustrophobia. It is over 3 miles long and has a low roof which was necessary to be able to propel a barge along the canal. You will see how this... More

You can just turn up if you are going on the trip boat. If you are on a canal boat and want to go all the way through you need to book.
