All reviews guided tour castle ruins walking trails entry fee worth a visit th century per person day trip well taken care torture chamber nice castle medieval times renaissance rooms chateau luxembourg leaflet
A nice fortress to visit, in large parts the walls have been restored and preserved which gives a good impression of the rooms and facilities inside. Definitely worth a visit if you care about historic buildings!
Visited this relatively small and convenient castle with the family.
Parking was sufficient, entrance nice price. Might be less suitable for wheelchairs.
Spent about ~1 hr to complete the tour.
We even tasted some nice “Beaufort cassero” in the end.
To be honest we had decided to drive around and just visit the local Chateaus, which can be sometimes a bit dull. The price was very reasonable and we were given a leaflet about the Chateau. There were numbers in the leaflet corresponding to areas...More
There are two castles: medieval ruins and a renaissance castle. You can only visit the renaissance caste with a guide. Tour times: 11am and 4pm. Costs: EUR 5 per person for ruins, or EUR 10 per person for both castles. All in all, it’s quite...More
Decided to do the medieval castle and then the guided tour of the renaissance castle. It was great. Lots of walking, stairs, cobblestone streets and gardens. Beautiful location. A true gem of Luxembourg.
We enjoyed visiting the ruins of the oldest part.
The only problem was the art exhibition in the castle. We didn’t get it at all. It looked terrible, just impossible to call it art, didn’t fit there at all and every piece had a hilarious...More
Interesting visit of the ruins of the medieval castle... easy walk with nice views.
As souvenir you should bring home the "Cassis de Beaufort", liquor made of blackcurrant... delicious to prepare a "Kir royal" (mix a little liquor with crémant/sparkling white wine)!
You can visit 2 castles here if you want to, they are connected. We only visited the ruins of the old castle. This one is very complete and the information in the leaflet provides you with the history of the castle.
Opposite the castle is...More
I enjoyed visiting here. It was unusual finding it at the bottom of a hill when so many castles are built on top so to look down on any potential enemy. It was built in different stages over centuries so has a lot of interesting...More

We visited in August, It only has a few visitors when we were there. They also do a trip through the main buildings as well - but it was only twice a day. They told us that they did not have an English guild when we were there, but the guild did a really good job trying to explain everything in English for us. You do need a car to get there as it is a bit out of the way but the google directions were no issues for us. We really enjoyed it and thought it was great. Here are their contact details below
