We more or less followed the route but I lived every second of it! Those vineyard... Just driving trough them, the small villages, seeing people working there... I enjoyed it very much. We visited some champagne houses and tasted some delicious champagnes. It is easy to follow the route, signs everywhere.

We went for a 2 and a half day wine tasting trip which I wish could be longer. We arrived Friday afternoon in Ay and visited the cellars of COGEVI, the 1st cooperative in the region. Guide answered thoroughly all our questions. Bought Collet Art Decò Champagne. Hautvillers is a must in the region. We got here twice. Kudos for... More

We did the Champagne Route over 2 days. For us the Tour from Les Mesnil-Sur-Oger to Epernay was a nice drive but not many places for lunch. Our stay in Epernay for a day was excellent with a tour of two champagne houses, one small and one commercial. Day 2 from Epernay to Verzenay was less interesting -in places we... More

A well-signposted trail through the pretty slopes of the vineyards of the region. Well worth following if you are not in a hurry.

We went here during the festival that is held every year in a different town or group of towns that make up the Route du Champagne. It is a truly wonderful experience. In our case the towns of Les Riceys held the festival and there were 24 chateaus were we could taste Champagne with our festival-booklet. It is very busy... More

The highlight of our trip to Reims was driving the Champagne tour north of Reims and then winding through all the little towns along the way - south to Epernay. Get a map of the tour and then just follow the signs along the route - don't worry about getting lost as it just makes it more interesting. For the... More

I picked up a map in Reims tourist information before starting, quite handy as a reference guide. We started the trip on the D951 between Reims and Epernay, turn off towards Villers-Allerand and follow the signs from there.

Start in Reims at the tourist office next to the Cathedral. They will provide you with an excellent map for the driving tour and give you plenty of guidance. We spent two days driving from village to village, vineyard to vineyard, sight to sight. There is so much to see and taste that I will only touch a few highlights:... More

Went to Reims for the long weekend and decided to head out and explore the Champagne Route on two of the three days. What a great way to see the country and taste some great champagne. We did this on Easter weekend though, which wasn't the best time to do it. Learned the hard way about local serving times for... More

This was a great route to take. The scenery was beautiful and we saw many interesting things. At this time of year they are pruning the vines which allowed us to see a pushed, hand made, burning barrel. While the traffic is minimum this time of year, unfortunately many of the champagne houses were closed and greatly limited the ability... More
