Hindu Temple. The trip was memorable, away from the city sound, traffic, between the woods, peaceful, and it was about to rain which was good.
South Indian Style, Sculptures, Indian Food. Spicy and reasonable price.
It was something like I visit somewhere I go visit every other day after so long away from home country. Food was so amazing, tastes like “made from mother’s hand”.
Trip:- 1 January 2020.

Australia's first Hindu temple, built in 1985 and still being added too. Very impressive in size and a strange thing to see in context with pure white alabaster & gold leaf reflecting the suns rays. We have been to many temples in India, Sri Lanka & elsewhere but were surprised that photography was banned here? Took our shoes & socks off because when in Rome....! Pretty colourful inside with several different dieties being honoured and many side alters with intricate carvings & sculptures. Well worth a quick stop in passing by.

SVT is located on the way towards Stanwell tops.
We visited the temple during Navratri. The whole temple was filled with Divine energy with Pooja and Havan happening inside.
There are 2 prangans. One with Lord Shiv, Ganesh and Durga Mata and other is Vishnu temple.
Visit during morning hours

Lord Sri Venkateshvara Temple (SVT) in quaint Helensburgh town of New South Wales stands in traditional style of Indian architecture, creating a truly unique and beautiful cultural jewel in the landscape of Helensburgh. SVT is the counterpart of the famous Tirupati Temple in South India to some extent
The consecration of the temple by sacred waters performed in June, 1985. The temple now serves as a House of Light, a source of solace and spiritual guidance, for all of Australia’s Hindu community and to visitors as well.
Temple staff offer daily religious services and special services on individual booking; free entrance with guidelines of Hindu ways to follow along with all other prevailing pandemic directions; membership & donations are welcome.
Temple has a Canteen thats open on Saturdays, Sundays & on public holidays from 10am -4pm serves Vegetarian Menu of Indian Cuisine.
SVT Visit an experience cum a spiritual journey that cannot be missed.

Got lost on way to Kellys Fall walking track and the GPS directed us past this temple to get back on route. The temple was packed with people and it looked divine. Will definitely eat there next time as we had already brought a picnic lunch for Kelly' Falls. This temple looks very majestic.

A nice temple to come and ponder life. Can only be driven to unless a bus stop is near, I don't know. Interesting place to sit and think about things, like 'why in Helensburgh'?

I had been to this beautiful temple on the outskirts of Sydney more than a year back, on a week day. This time I decided to be there on Gokulashtami. Reached there around 3 pm as the temple was open the full day because of the festival. There were quite a few devotees even at that time, and yet, quiet and peaceful, as it was during my last visit. Was happy to see the ritual of baby Lord Krishna being rocked in a cradle to a well-sung chorus by volunteers. The whole experience was soothing. The temple has the traditional gold-coloured and grey stone gopurams. Everything is very clean and well-maintained. The canteen was open, and we managed to get hot samosas and chai, which was so welcome on that cold, windy day. Although the canteen menu is quite big, everything listed may not be available. It’s self-service, but the queue moves pretty fast.

Very relaxing and calming atmosphere. Staff very helpful. I was there in regard to a possible participation of the Temple at the annual Helensburgh Lions Country Fair this year in October. The staff were very kind, and the interior of the Temple was an interesting and peaceful place. Altogether, I would highly recommend a visit here, try the food at the weekends, vegetarian and delicious.

One of the best temple to visit in New South Wales.
Fabulous temple with great representation of Hindu Culture and diversity.
One of the better sacred places to visit...Not to be missed if you are around the Sydney area.
Temple has very good facilities for parking/canteen/toilets for visitors.

Hi, I assume you are going to attend the wedding in the temple and that wedding is in Indian style. I recommend to wear traditional Indian Dress. For males, kurtas, pyajamas. For females, sarees or salwar suits.
