Food was very good for a pub, place was cleanand bathrooms were new but dont expect to get to sleep until close to 12am due to the band playing. Booked 1 nights stay with wife and two kids and was not told about a band playing till 11:45pm and was placed directly above the actual band. Worst nights sleep ever.

Thursday night is the Hotel's double slow cooked pork knuckle night. The knuckle was so dry that I felt like I was eating a leather shoe. So my guest suggests that I try and wash the pork down with a good Pinot Noir. So I went and grabbed a bottle of Pinot Noir for $17.99. Went to the bar and was charged $29.00. After a discussion with the Bar Manager, I was told that the extra was corkage. Really?? Nearly $12 for corkage inside a local pub?!?! Spoke to the caterers and they just smiled and said, "Sorry" and that was it. No offer of an alternate meal or a replacement meal. So, won't be back for the Thursday night special and definitely would not recommend anything alcoholic from the pub's list except beer.

I enjoyed my stay. Quite a different experience for me.
Shared bathroom and toilet facilities was initially a concern, however it was easily managed.
The room was lovely clean and well appointed. Friendly staff and food was great.
All in all, I was happy with the accommodation.

It’s and old hotel first open in 1915 got a bit of character about it.
Beers cold a well served by the friendly bartender.
The counter lunches are sensational restaurant quality.
We had grilled rump steak it is delicious well cooked comes with salad and home Made chips . Also fish and chips again well cooked and generous proportion.
Priced very reasonable definitely worth a visit.

We stayed one night here and were quite impressed by the cleanliness pf the hotel . It has recently been renovated so all fresh and new..
The room was large and very comfortable with great bed for sleeping . It was not noisy on the night we were there .
The renovated bathrooms are lovely and had a large shower which I find a blessing because I'm a big fellow ( so many places these days have tiny cramped cubicles ).
There was a good sized sitting room where one could make a cuppa etc...
I would recommend a stay here .

For the best place in Helensburgh to grab a beer with the friendly locals. God facilities, cheap beer, and a function room out the back at very reasonable prices. ,

Great pub with very friendly staff and awesome food at good prices. The pub has got everything you need from - TAB , Keno and poker machines ( Only about 5 ). There is no air con but they open up all the windows when it gets to hot and there’s normally a good breeze. There is a recently renovated outside area at the back of the pub that is awesome for the kids to run around and the adults can relax and enjoy a beer. Definitely worth a visit 👍

A friend and I had been driving around the Illawarra for a few hours earlier today when we came across this old hotel in Helensburgh.
We ordered beers and then went into the Bistro for some lunch - my friend ordered the Grilled Fish of the Day which came with chips and salad, while I ordered the Chorizo Burger which came with chips.
Both our meals were average - the menu is not extensive.
The Hotel Itself is an old one and remains a focal point on Helensburgh's Main Street.
