We live a 15 minutes drive from this hazelnut farm, so drop by to shop its delicious hazelnut products occasionally... always lovely to pay the picturesque farm a visit and buy direct from the producers, even though they have stalls at a few weekend produce markets - like in Launceston and Evandale.
Their roasted hazelnuts are oh so aromatic and sweet - as they make it a point to crack the harvested nuts only when they’re readied for sale.... best hazelnuts ever!
So are their hazelnut oil and meal! Both elevates my baking to yet another realm of deliciousness!
And their cafe’s house made hazelnut puddings and cakes are a great testimonial to the unique quality of nut, oil and meal! And the accompanying coffee doesn’t let them down either!

Very nice little cafe/shop with a limited, but delicious, menu. The menus items that we tried were found to be excellent and reasonably priced. The salami and triple smoked ham on one of their dishes, in particular, were great. You could really taste the smokiness in the ham in particular. I queried where they got their meat from and I was advised that they have their own pigs which are fed up on hazelnuts and later 'processed'. It really shows in the meat products. The female staff member with whom we dealt with appeared very pleasant and always smiling.
Unfortunately, the hazelnut trees must be deciduous and, as such, weren't much to look at as it is autumn and they have lost their leaves.
The cafe/shop has a 'loop' program running on t.v.s within the shop explaining and showing the process of harvesting and processing of the hazelnuts which is quite interesting.
Even the drive out to Hazelbrae is worth it just for the scenery on the way as everything is so green at present due to the recent rains. The actual road into the property is not 'all that flash' but typical of many farming properties.
I would recommend a visit and would have no problem in revisiting again in future.

Thankyou Christie & Sarah for your friendly and efficient service .... and Tom your food was amazing. We loved our mains (pork and salmon) and our berry waffle desert was so refreshing and tasty.
Thankyou for making our outing memorable ... we definitely want to return ASAP.
We like the idea of picnics in the paddock .... good one âś…

Such a shame. Have been there before (pre covid) and couldn't fault it. Today arrived in the afternoon before 3pm hoping for coffee and cake, which we did get, but were made to feel like it was an inconvenience for the staff to do. We were offered takeaway cups (but we declined, we wanted to sit and drink our coffee) and then we were asked to bring the cups back inside after we had finished...poor form Halzelbrae a most unwelcoming reception.

Sorry, we were preparing to wind up our food & beverage services completely that month. We are now fully focussed on being a Hazelnut shop showcasing and retailing our farm products.

Spent a day on the tasting trail. As soon as we walked in the lady behind the counter disappeared and was nowhere to be seen. So we left.
There is a playground and activities for kids that if you have young kids would be good even thoutgh it is quite dated

We decided to try Hazelbrae yesterday for lunch.
The service on arrival was poor the young lady wasn’t helpful at all,in fact she made us feel uncomfortable.
The menu was very disappointing to say the least,I had my 4 year old with us but there was nothing on the menu for children to eat. The menu choices were minimal and quite pricey for what they were.
It was not worth the drive from Launceston and we will not be returning

Luckily we visited during the harvesting season which is only about six weeks roughly in March / April and you can collect your own farm fresh hazlenuts straight from the orchard at a very reasonable price.
There is a well presented shop and information centre telling the seasonal hazlenut story and selling various hazlenut products and tours of the extensive farm plus good coffee and hazlenut icecreams.

Came here for breakfast and was very impressed with the great service and delicious hazelnut themed food options, including hot chocolate! We shared a savoury, pulled bacon waffle and a dessert one and both were great. There is a welcome range of products to buy as souvenirs for those not lucky enough to visit and they will ship for you.
This is a lovely farm with a welcoming, homely atmosphere and such a close drive from Launceston.

We stopped for lunch, which was great. The farm is in a lovely spot and the owners are really friendly. The roast hazelnuts were delcious - if you like ferrero rocher chocolates then you will love the hazelnuts. The kids and I ended up eating literally 2 kgs of them as we travelled around Tasmania!

Passed through Hagley on way to Launceston and were very pleased we detoured to Hazelbrae Hazelnuts. There were no tour available as they were harvesting but the lady was very knowledgeable and able to answer all the questions my Curious husband fired at her! We learnt alot! The nuts we tried were very good! My husband had a hazelnut coffee which he enjoyed. Bought some nuts which we have since devoured!
