My Wife and I have just completed the 6 day overland track walk , it was fantastic , it was certainly challenging but our guides , Anna , Tristan and Fyn were outstanding , they were very kind , they worked as a team , they knew each others roles.
The food and wine each night was sensational and the packed lunches and hardy breakfasts really kept us going.
I have had back surgery and my wife knee surgery so we paid extra to have a porter which was Tristan , I cant speak highly enough of the experience we had and would recommend to anyone that is thinking of this trip to do it with Tasmanian Walking Company.

Holy cow! What an absolute joy.
Being an ex-Tasmanian, I'd always wanted to do this walk, but heard it was pretty crowded.
But that was a lie. Couple of people about, but this walk is through a remarkable range of forest, plains and mountains - stunning vistas at every turn.
The guides briefed us well prior to each day's walk, provided a whole range of information on everything from the history to the plant life and cooked us up delicious food every night.
I did this walk with a mate when his girlfriend pulled out (don't blame her, my mate is verrrrry dull!).
He's done this walk 5 times - not because he's boring and keeps repeating things (he's walked all over the world), but because it's simply one of the most stunning walks in the world.
I can see why. Beautiful scenery, excellent quality huts and the Tasmanian Walking Company just make everything so easy so you can enjoy it all.
Thanks team.

Hi TravelBugged2008
Thanks so much for your review. I am pleased you had a great time out on the track with your mate and that you enjoyed your time with the guides.
The trail isn’t too busy at all and I agree it is spectacular!
I hope you find some other great walks to go on.
Kind regards, Ros

I first chose the company for their informative website, honest, prompt and clear communications, and especially their tourism awards. I am glad my choice did not fail me. Their talented guides, excellent services and facilities exceeded my expectations. Clear instructions on the walk and extensive explanations of the nature were always given at most appropriate times. Everyone was closely looked after, surprisingly we still felt abundant privacy. Everyday, we were greeted with stunning landscapes, exotic wild animals and ended our days with relaxing hot shower, comforting warmth from heaters, delicious foods and wines (our guides were also brilliant chefs), wide range of games and books to play and read, even yoga mats for yoga lovers and what's more?, lots of laughters. We came as strangers, were brought together by our guides and became a family. This is my most memorial trip after more than three years of extensive hiking. Undoubtedly, this is the best walking ecotourism company I have ever used. Thanks, our wonderful guides, Alina, Quinton and Miles!

There were so many wonderful parts of the trip, but I loved the wildflowers at the later stages of the walk. The accommodation, food and guides were first class. The beds are comfortable, the showers and toilets are good and the eating relaxing areas are great. There are gas heaters and we were able to dry clothes. There is a good selection of fiction and some useful bird and plant guides. We had different wines from Tasmania each night and a great beer on the last night.
The guides were so good, working long hours to make sure we were comfortable and happy. The cooking was a highlight. They had fresh bread and yogurt each day.
This is not a stroll, and you have to carry about 8-10 kg. There is a fair bit of climbing and descent. The result is a sense of real achievement. To me, this is a rite of passage for a Tasmanian.

I flew down from Hong Kong to join in this hike after finding out about it 4 years ago. I was always very curious to see what it was all about and had heard great things about the Cradle Mountain Huts Walk. I wanted to enjoy the trek without carrying a tent, so I joined up with 8 other hikers and we had 2 fantastic guides for the week.
We were told to expect all sorts of weather and sure enough we felt it. The first several days were in misty rain with temperatures in the low teens and our last day was in the 30s so the weather does swing here. We were generally hiking about 10-12kms per day but the elevation gain is fairly minimal but the difference in terrain is quite dramatic and beautiful. One minute it is dry and the next you are wandering into a rain forest. The huts are rustic but very comfortable and the guides are excellent chefs. It is fantastic to finish a long day of hiking with a hot tea followed by a hot shower, good food and nice Tassy wine!
It was an excellent experience and one I will look back on fondly for years to come!

I'm 59 years old and relatively fit and healthy. I love hiking but a 6 day hike is now a little beyond my capacity IF I have to carry all my gear and food. Thank you Tasmanian Walking Company for making it possible for me to immerse myself in the wondrous Tasmanian wilderness. My pack was manageable, and best of all I walked to a clean warm hut where either of my guides, Jess or Daniel were preparing a meal for me. A glass of wine, a comfortable mattress and warm shower, and hiking has become accessible again. What a fabulous organisation that employs fantastic professional young guides who share the tracks, stories, and knowledge of the flora and fauna. What an amazing adventure. I highly recommend this company to organise your walk: taking care of the logistics so you can enjoy the experience.

I completed the Cradle Mountain 6 day walk in early March with my sister. We were very excited to be walking the whole Overland track which is why we chose TasWalking over other companies we had used for guided walks in the past. The scenery was beautiful, the walk challenging at times but easily achievable if you have a base fitness, the group we travelled with were brilliant, the food, although small servings was brilliant, but unfortunately that is where the positives stop.
It is about what we didn't get in our guided walk.... probably 70-80% of the time one of our group was leading as we were only walking with one guide who was at the back. (My sister who was walking on her own Day 1 overshot the hut turnoff, having not heard the instructions over the wind at the stop and walked an extra 3 km 'lost'.) We therefore missed out on interest stops and information, I have since been told we should have had at least 10, maybe 3 if we were lucky? Aside from Hut 1 none of the drying rooms worked and there was zero heating in the bathrooms as well (we were told the heaters which were flashing were broken, or were they not turned on?) On night 4 on arrival at the hut we were told there was no heating until a guest started to get angry and suddenly our guide managed to 'turn it on'. There was a problem with the toilets at the first 3 huts, resulting in only one being available for use night 2 & 3.
There was no additional guide bought in at the middle of the walk and on that afternoon/evening one of our guides was called away so we only had one guide instead of 3.
Our lead guide Fraser was very disinterested in interacting with the group, and we were constantly reminded that this was his third trip back to back. Not our problem if he was a bit over guiding, it was our FIRST trip. Ben the other guide tried to interact as the week progressed but as he was bought in last minute and Cradle Mountain is not his area of knowledge he tended to take directions from Fraser.
It's disappointing that when I raised these concerns with Shelley and then Sophy and asked to speak with management I have had no one get back to me and have been told that normally never happens, 'that's unfortunate'. However it did and no one seems to care.

Spectacular Walk with ever changing weather conditions from sleet and snow to warm walking in shorts and t shirt. The group were great and provided some very amusing moments. TWC have things organised very well from great food to drying cabinets.
In particular the guides Clancy Clair and Caty were fantastic and a highlight of the trip watching them work with a smile. I would throughly recommend this walk with TWC. Follow the fitness plan to prepare for the trip !

I have just returned home from a wonderful week on our World Heritage listed Overland Walk for 6 days/5 nights. It was an incredible time with 11 friends and the added bonus of staying in the private huts whilst being spoilt by our perfect guides, Chloe and Ned. Nine of us had already walked the Overland but wanted to walk with the added bonus of private huts with hot showers, heating, catered meals, a wine or two, light packs, comfortable beds and all the time walking through magnificent scenery. Chloe and Ned were exemplary with their guiding, catering and participating in our fun times. Walks like this aren't without risks including harsh weather and injuries. Chloe and Ned faced challenges with calm professionalism.

Hi Anne B,
Thanks for your review. What a great way to do the Overland Track with a group of friends. Both Chloe and Ned are excellent guides and we are lucky to have them working with us – I am glad they made your experience richer and you felt well supported throughout the walk.
I do hope you can join us for another walk at some point in the future.
Kind regards, Ros

Hello. We are going in December 2021. I like to pack VERY light and wash t-shirt/underwear/socks each day - what are the drying facilities like? Will I get my things dry every night?
Also - are the bedrooms heated?
What is the sleep sheet thingy like? I feel claustrophobic in sleeping bags and like to just open it. I believe there are blankets as well?
Thanks.

Hi there,
We’ve just finished the walk last week. Lightweight gear should dry overnight. The drying rooms are big and have lots of coat hangers to put your gear on. There is a gas heater in the room which is put on if needed.
The bedrooms are not heated, you are provided with a super warm sleeping bag and a woollen blanket. Hot water bottles are also available. We were warm and completely each night.
