Rod was a great instructor, he gave us so much useful information and is very knowledgeable about the happenings in the sea such as when the whales would appear in the area and the behaviour of the dolphins in the water. He brought us through paddling out to sea and back to shore. Overall a great experience.

Never done this and expected to be falling off rather than picking this up so quickly... We were briefly shown what to do, some tips and then off we went - within 5 min we were standing up. 15 min we felt comfortable... Back the next day and standing up within a minute... will be back and looking these guys up - thank you so much, we really enjoyed the experience and loved how you kept up informed re the next days weather conditions..

I booked a 60 mins session on line with Shoal Bay SUP for 2 of my sons and me. We had a most wonderful time and lots of fun paddleboarding at Shoal Bay. Rod is an excellent instructor and it didn't take long for the 3 of us to be enjoying the beautiful Shoal Bay on our SUPs. The water was clear and beautiful and I could not have picked a better place at Port Stephens for the experience. The whole process from booking to finding the meeting place, to the lesson and the actual paddle boarding went like a charm. Thanks Rod. We'll be back,

Shoal Bay SUP provides personalised, friendly service.
Our group did the early morning pedal boarding tour of Shoal Bay with Rod of Shoal Bay SUP. I then booked to do the same tour the next morning. It is that good.
The pedal boards are very stable, and very easy to use.
If you're in the Shoal Bay area, I'd recommend having a go at pedal boarding.

Had a great day with Jay and Rod at Shoal Bay SUP.
The new pedalboards are a big hit and well worth the fee.
We had a great time scooting around the Bay and got a great leg workout as well. :)

We took Stand Up Paddleboards - two for half hour cost $50. Incredibly easy two foot pedals with a rudder underneath, handlebars turning gears L or R. It was sooo much fun. My buddy spotted turtles off Tomaree break wall. Skipped over a few waves but mostly tranquil and a great experience. A very good cardio workout. Rod is attaching water bottle holders and a timer would be good as my son had to go out and entice two others back to shore as you loose all sense of time out there. A must do for every age!

Shoal Bay is the perfect place to learn. Rod is a good, calm instructor. Good equipment, clear flat water, boats to paddle past, perfect day.

What a great time the kids had in the bay on the SUP and kayaks.... cost us just over $100 for an hour to use 2 paddle boards and a double kayak.
The bay is lovely and gentle to paddle around and the kids can go a long way without leaving the safety of the shore line.
So much fun!!! Highly recommend it to everyone.
