Sadly this place didn't meet our expectations. The place needs to be taken care off, there wasn't anyone to show us around, not really a museum. The coffee shop was very small and even though the coffee was good the service was very slow and not very friendly. Sadly not the best experience.

Is a must visit for coffee lovers, the Don Pello coffee is the best I've ever taste. The host Mercedita is very lovely and gave us a lot of information and tips about coffee and its preparation she was very kind with us. Highly recommended place to visit!!!!

While visiting family and relatives in my hometown I was told about the Coffee Museum, so we decide to visit. It is a small place but it has all the history about the agriculture of the coffee of the town of Ciales and what machinery was used to cultivate it, let me tell you I learned a lot. It's owner... If the owner is your guide, be prepared for a very long monologue about coffee, it's history and it's politics in Puerto Rico. Although very knowledgable, the guide was not in tune with his group as after more than an hour of preaching, most people in the small room (where there were no chairs) had pulled out their cell phones.... This was an awesome little place tucked away from the public. Tried to get a tour in English but the owner was out of town. Loved this place and the coffee artifacts there.

Shop is accessible, in the town of Ciales. It has very old and interesting coffee related equipment and documentation, but when we went (Sunday morning) we found it dirty and out of order, with trash on the floor, dismembered pieces of machinery. Basically, unattended. The have a coffee shop that sells obviously coffee, and treats flavored like coffee, as well... More

The owners are both retired proffessionals striving to conserve our long coffee tradition and history. When the town of Ciales was about to dispose of hundreds of historic material due to lack of funds/interest, these good ricans saw the need and opportunity to showcase it. This small building houses antique machinery used to roast, pack and label bales of coffee.... More
