The falls are just on the edge of Epupa township where rapids can be seen after a very short walk. A longer walk along to the base of the falls gives great views as well. Apart from tourists you'll see Himba people washing at the...More

We had a two day stay at Epupa Falls while in Namibia. It was a long way to drive from Opuwa as the area is a bit remote. The falls were flowing fairly high but apparently it does get much higher at time. It seemed...More

Epupa falls provide a fantastic view, palm trees lining the water side, baobabs isolated on rocks between water masses smashing down the rocks. Take the walk up the hill and pay 40 N$ to the nice lady awaiting you there.

We learned by now that you have to pay for everything in Namibia. Even to drive up the hill to view the falls! But, it was worth it. Wonderful view of the beautiful falls.

Visit falls from close by and end the day up on a hill and get the whole picture while having sundowners. Beautiful!

Take time to see the falls at different times of the day...we liked sunrise and sunset but take time to sit and watch the insect and the human life that visit the falls...stunning dragon flies...himba ladies washing clothes.

We have been there on the end of june 2016 with Toyota Hilux and the road from Opuwo was quite normal as any gravel roads in Namibia. There are some narrows and bumpy bridges across dry rivers but there is reduced speed to 30... More
