Amazing views
Feb. 2020 • Couples
It was a rewarding experience in Naypyidaw. I love to see the pagoda at night, it’s magnificent! There was a elevator that take you to the platform of the pagoda so you dont need to climb the stairs, so you could enjoy the view of Naypyidaw. Inside, there are stone carving Buddha’s stories. Well worth the visit.

Large and beautiful

This is located in the capital of Myanmar and is large and beautiful, both outside and inside. It has a white-elephant garden across the road. Worth visiting whilst in Naypyidaw.

I hope this great pagoda is the one of the biggest thing among Myanmar.
It is a beautiful and fresh place for visitors for a day time it will extermely hot so I recommend visit night time.It is the same patterns of Shwe Da Gone Pagoda in Yangon but it has cave with huge column inside. There are many idols and statues are there and here.Take a lift for upcoming and use a ladder for outgoing.
At night very beautiful night scene can be found.

Should visit new landmark of new capital city, Stupa shaped-temple type Pagoda
Jul. 2019
Largest and significant Pagoda of new capital which imitating historic largest landmark "Shwedagon" in old capital "Yangon". Should visit all around to see how greatly different in feeling of "Space" and detail experience even if the shape is totally made to be the same, by comparing it from same shape, prior Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon.

Of course

This is apparently a replica of the pagoda in Yangon albeit a little shorter in height and completely different in experience.

Whereas the original in Yangon is a kind of fair of an evening in which one can promenade around the spire with one's beloved, family, friends, other tourists, admiring the myriad of shrines and the various offerings on display along with thousands of one's fellows, the replica in Nay Pyi Taw features access beneath the spire to an echoing space with four buddha shrines and a circular series of marvellous granite reliefs in panels depicting events in the life of the Buddha and other famous characters. The carvings are quite extraordinary, combining expressionistic landscape forms with stylized figures, some of which are sublime.

If you meditate under the spire, the echoes add an unusual, disconcerting dimension that enhances an almost unearthly experience albeit often the echoes are of kids enjoying the opportunity to test their vocal cords and mothers and others telling them to shut up. It mingles marvelously with the twittering of the birds and the gongs rolling in from outside.

Outside, there are the birthday Buddha statues which you can sprinkle with water and focus your thoughts upon on the specially provided wooden platform in front. To know which one is for your birthday, you will need to read Myanmar or ask for guidance from a passerby.

Remember to check in your shoes downstairs as you enter and leave a donation as you exit.

There are elephants outside. White ones, too. Seems apt.

Impressive temple
Aug. 2018 • Friends
The temple is very big and impressive yet not many visitors were seen there. Maybe because it was not easily accessible.

Jun. 2019 • Business
Short trip in Naypyidaw to the pagoda. it is lovely to view it from a distance at night. During the day, the views from here are magnificent and you get a sense of the size of the capital. Make sure you have a longyi.
