Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Or at least near the Port of Fremantle is a world-class venue for intimate Jazz in a modern, comforting venue. It is brand new, with an incredible fit out at, no doubt, at great expense and foresight to people movement.
From the moment we parked the car we felt as if we were somewhere else, Paddington in Sydney maybe, without the crowds and pollution. Also from the second we entered the front door we felt welcome and nabbed a brilliant table (ask for table #1!).
The food is lovely, and the wine list more than adequate, and the cocktail menu also extensive.
The staff were splendid; patient, busy, enthusiastic and appreciated.
The music included the Paul Millard Quartet which is a world class group whom I have loved before, and will do again.
If you like Jazz you will be spoiled forever as you will not find such gems as we have here in Perth with The Ellington and Duke of George; both sparkling and valuable.

We visited the Duke of George with 6 friends on Friday at 6pm. We were asked to pay a $15 cover charge but as we hadn’t visited before we just wanted to have a drink and a look (which they say you can do). That was fine they said! A Blues band had been advertised to play and they started at 7pm. We were sitting at the very back of the venue as we were very busy talking and catching up (and we ordered lots of food and drinks). When the band had finished a staff member came and asked us for the $15 each cover charge!! Our group had probably spent about $400 on food and drinks throughout the night so found this quite insulting!! We were told that there is a section next to the bar where you don’t have to pay but this doesn’t make sense as you can see the bar and back of the main room and hear the music!! They advertise on their site popping in for a drink after work but then try to get you to pay or not pay and move to a section that is still part of the whole room!! They need to fine tune the system!
Besides that messy system the D of G is a lovely place to visit for a drink. The decor is gorgeous (love the theatre chairs but thought the plain black chairs looked a bit cheap), beautiful mirrors, delicious fresh food and a great concept. We’ll definitely try it again 👍🏻

At first the entry fee might seem high but it does worth it. The music was great.
The service is professional and the food is delicious.
If you love jazz and live music in general this is the place you should add on your Fremantle to do list.

Fantastic live music celebrating the talent of Sting and Police. The food was great with an excellent selection of casual and more substantial dishes. The service was exceptional, from the organisation of the tables to the table staff.

We went with some friends to see Blooms show and it was fantastic. We did not have any food but our friends did and they said the portion size was small but enjoyed some very nice gin and tonics I would of liked a cocktail 🍸 but a little expensive but I would definitely go again
