If you are in Gotland, you MUST visit this museum in Visby. We were so fortunate to have a wonderful guide .. What we thought we knew about Vikings was replaced with a truthful account.

No trip to Gotland would be complete without visiting Gotland's Museum in Visby. Take the tour and hope that your guide is Jeremy. He makes the story of Gotland come alive. The exhibits are very well presented.

Be sure to take the tour! Wonderful rune stones, extremely interesting history--a surprisingly great museum for such a small place.

I have been here twice, will go again with my children next time. Gives great insight into Gotland's history. I thought it had very friendly staff, a really nice gift shop. Highly recommended while visiting Visby.

I took a bus from Stockholm to Nynäshamn and took a ferry to Visby. I know there are some flights that go to the island but it is cheaper to go by bus and ferry, though it does take longer.
