Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Along the Central Coast of New South Wales, there are many beautiful suburbs, of special note is Ettalong Beach. As you walk around, you can’t help smiling at the signboards: 'Drop Your Pants Laundry', 'Hatters Tea House' or' Lord of Pour' cafe. The shop facades have their own appeal, and one is tempted to enter the charming antique, or bric-a-brac shops. However, I was in for another treat. We stopped to talk to some locals, who suggested we go to the Galleria shopping mall. When we entered, it was as if we had been transported to Italy. There were marble statues and a beautiful marble floor. The little shops were delightful, selling a variety of goods ranging from pottery, hand-made jewellery, crocheted items, clothes and much more. Of course, there were eateries, and if you were craving a gelato, you were spoiled for choice. We found little nooks and a tiny walkway called Edelweiss Lane, complete with overhanging grape vines. On the first floor of the building is Cinema Paradiso and a Tourist Hotel which overlooks the Galleria. Replicas of beautiful paintings by the Masters are on the walls and some can be seen from the road. Even the car park has little alcoves with statues. It is a rather unique place and I share in the delight of friends when they see it for the first time.

If you are after a surfing beach then look elsewhere because unless you are the size of a grasshopper you won't find any waves to ride. However that oft-times makes it good for very young children to get their feet wet and splash about.

There are some picnic spots and it can be a nice area on a bright and sunny day. Outside of that this isn't exactly a tourist metropolis but as I said, it's good for the very young.

Ettalong beach is a lovely beach you go too as it very shallow at low tide with no big waves which is ideal for children.
Protected by headlands and lion island it is very busy during the school holidays but great at other times.
There are sections fir off lease dogs

Nice for a picnic or a coffee. I walk through with friends chatting regularly. You meet lots of dogs and nice people. Grab a coffee and walk from one end to the other.

Nice beach to sit in the sunshine and relax. The water is flat which is a bonus if you aren't into big waves.

The Ettalong Beach stretches quite a way and the council have done a good job of building a pathway from one side of the bay to the other.
Even in winter the beach is a good place to go and stroll next to the water.
Tranquil and pretty and you are bound to see a pelican or two
