Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

All the good vendors have left. Only trash stalls and to add insult to injury, they raised the entry 100% to $2 and they do not accept silver coins. Not even 50cent pieces. They also disrespected Anzacs by trading on Anzac day.

Dozens of empty stalls. Rude gate staff acting like bouncers, whingeing about gold coins to get in and refused to take my other coins. Is money not money these days?
Seems to be mainly junk with few good stalls left. I think management have scared them away.

I love this market. Such a large range. From trash n treasure, cheap cosmetics and toiletries, candles, food, fruit n veg, flowers, plants food stalls, nuts, toys, clothes. Its a gold coin entry as a pedestrian and there is free parking in the area next door. I recommend wearing gum boots as its always dusty, dirty and or wet. Such a fun morning if that's your thing. Get your jam donuts too!

This "market" is very dirty and the worst area setting. Although many people go i haven't heard many good things about this market. And also there is hardly anywhere to park

Has got to be the worst market in Australia. Nothing but junk and rotten vege's. You may as well go to your local rubbish tip.

I was rely looking forward to these markets - my son organized to take me for Mothers Day which I thought would be wonderful but if was extremely disappointing. It wasn't the best weather so I didn't expect all the stalls to be open but there was hardly a stall at all outside and half the stalls inside (where the permanent stalls are housed) were closed and those that were open were very ordinary - a little scuzzy in fact. I hate to write a bad review and I will visit again in better weather but if it doesn't live up to what is advertised on the website I won't be going back.

We spent the day at Laverton market and started off with the food. A kransky sausage hot or cheese in a bun with fried onions and mustard and sause YUMM, then we moved onto the Meat pies, YUMM again. After we were well fed we roamed and there is something for everyone! There are good deals to be had and if you talk nicely to the stall keeper you sometimes can discuss a better deal, be respectful tho. But a great place. We loved it, the variety and the prices, wish we could have spent 2 days there. But if you are in that area on the weekend you must go to the Laverton Markets!

I come here with the family for lunch and to stock up on all the toiletries - much cheaper than the supermarkets. Plants here are also really cheap and most sellers will take orders if they don't have a particular plant. $1 entry but I save a lot more than that so I'm happy to pay the entrance fee. Make sure you don't waste your weekend stuck in traffic in the internal market - Use the free parking next door and you will be in and out much quicker.

With all the money they get from entry & parking, you'd think the least they would do is mark out car parks and fill the potholes!, It's a shame because there are some wonderful stalls here, especially the food ones:) YUM!

I think if they're going to up the price for $5 to park your car then they could do something about the pot holes.
I went there today, held out a $5 note for the parking fee and the 'lady' collecting would not cover the 5 inches between her and the money held out for her. She said "I work here, not there". Too taken aback to do what I ought to have done which would be to tell her 'if you don't want it, i'll happily park without paying' I instead strained to cover the 5 inches between us. I said "you're very rude" to which she replied "yes I am MOVE YOUR CAR". Poor woman, I guess she's too old to learn common social etiquette now... I do hope I get her next time I visit, i'll be better prepared :)
