Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ko Hong is certainly one of the most beautiful islands in the Krabi area. Unfortunately its natural beauty and closeness to Ao Nang, generates an endless stream of longtail boats that unload thousands of tourists onto its shores. The only way to enjoy the spectacular beach is to organize your own trip and get there by 8am, then you will have a couple of hours of its unspoiled beauty to enjoy. When the crowds arrive you can go and visit any of the other countless islands in the area, which being less famous do not attract nearly as much interest.

We knew it would be busy going in peak season, but it really does take away the beauty and serenity of these wonderful karst islands with the amount of boats and volume of tourists. 300bht each to land on the island, food and drink available, along with basic facilities. The best part of this island is the hidden lagoon which had less tourists.

It is jelly fish season, all the beaches were filled with jelly fishes. We also had to pay 300baht per person for the entry to the National Park. The beach is also very rocky. I expected more from Hong Island. Snorkeling was also not an option because of too many jelly fishes. We enjoyed the 4 island trip more.

As much as the island is beautiful. You will never be able to see it in it's full glory. It is the idyllic James Bond island scene...beautiful clear waters,,,lovely to snorkel around in . But ...the locals and sheer volume of tourists have turned this place into a nightmare. I thought James Bond Island was bad...This comes in as a close second. Boats are coming in and out non stop. Beach is very seldom short of 'packed' You have pay to visit the island which goes towards conservation. I doubt you will be able to take a picture without at least 10 people hovering in the background. We were lucky we went EARLY in the day It's sad really. But I guess it's the way of the world..

Ko Hong or Hong Island and all other islands in the Andaman Sea are some great wonders of Mother Nature. It is surprising to see the cliffs standing all vertically in the sea waters. Most of them are vertical. One can look at them and keep on pondering for hours, how did they form, since when, and how are they standing like that. There are certain beauties that can only be felt but difficult to explain. The cliffs in Andaman Sea of Thailand are something like that. Snorkelling is definitely very enjoyable for young people. But both my wife and I are quite aged for such adventure.

We booked private long tail boat from khlong muang beach for full day trip to 3 islands. This was last stop at afternoon. Must say that it is nice and worth to visit but really growded. Sand at the beach was extremely soft. I also searched and found geocache just 50m from beach.

This island is so beautiful. Riding over on a long tail, snorkelling in the shallows and kayaking around the lagoon was a holiday highlight.
There isn’t much to do other than take in the beauty, explore the wildlife and sunbathe. It is truly beautiful and if you can get there before the crowds then you will appreciate it all the more.
There is a tiny restaurant and the food is up there with some of the best. A must do, I hate group excursions of any kind however I can’t recommend this enough (I recommend it even more if you can kayak!)
