Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Best place to unwind. Best for first timers in backpacking. Bring your own tent if possible and small blanket. It's really cold during late afternoon till dawn. Do bring flashlight and water.

Lake Holon has become popular among outdoor adventure enthusiasts due to its beauty which is hidden in the mountain of South Cotabato...We have to trek for hours to reach nature at its best...We traversed the lake and camped along the lake overnight...We started our trek in the morning via the difficult trail-Kule...The Kule trail as they say is a difficult trail, but upon reaching the view deck, it will give us the 360 degrees view of the lake...After 2 hours of trek, we reached the view deck & enjoyed taking all the fotos we could...It took us another 45 minutes descending to reach the lake where we will be spending the night camping...The next day we took the Salacafe trail to go back to the Tboli tourism office...It was a very fulfilling adventure...despite all the ascent & descent along the trail, it was all worth our effort...Bathing in the lake is so cool & refreshing...The water's so inviting that you cant help but dive into the waters when you reach the camp site...Lake Holon has been awarded the Cleanest Inland Body of Water for years...& the fresh tilapia fish from the lake is so delicious...

has been so busy and forgot to give this spectacular place a review.Booked it in advance in their facebook page and was replied to straightaway by the tourism officers of the town.Communication was great and we were happily welcomed in the office first thing in the morning.Orientation was given and we were on the road!there was 10 of us so just imagine the fun on the way up as we were expecting an easy ride hahaha it wasn't!loads of bumps and humps but hey we were in for adventure. On the way we luckily found a small store which sells banana products and we ate until we were all full for of course very cheap price and we bought some to bring up in the mountains. We arrived in first camp which is the salacafe and we had to register and pay some dues and there we go in our motorcycles(2 or 3 in each ride). It was very dangerous ride but don't worry the driver was very knowledgable and knows what he is doing so we had so much fun while riding.we chose Kule trail as it's more challenging.we stayed in the barangay tourism hall for about an hour for prayers from the locals and some photo opportunity which was very humbling experience.these people who live their basic lives in the mountain was an eye opener for everyone and that reminds us about what is important in life. Our guide was a pastor in the local and was very kind to look for a native chicken for us to take in the lake. The hike was smooth and so much fun as all we did was laugh and eat on the way(mind your rubbish, take it with you or else you will be fined). And there we are in the summit overlooking the grandeur of this mythical place. That was the end of the good bits for now as we had to walk down to the lake where the campsite is and my goodness the hike was worst than going up and on the way the rain, thunder and lighting decided to come with us as well hahahah it was so funny coz we were all soaking wet and luckily we took some raincoats, umbrellas and waterproof jackets with us.We waited for a bit in the docks where a local fisherman had some fire and warm ourselves until the rain stops!and off we go and my my the lake was just captivating and so serene. On the campsite we set up our tents very quickly as we can see that another shower is coming. Our guide cooked our dinner(chicken adobo, fried&paksiw tilapia from the lake and some sweet sticky rice and cassava suman from the locals). You can buy some of these from the big house on the top and you can pay everything when you leave.Yes it was pouring rain when we were eating and had to eat in the dark. The toilets are a bit of a walk on the top so don't go alone at night and take everything with you(all kinds of toiletries). After dinner we found out that all our tents was wet so bring with you a very good one or else you will be sleeping really wet.In the morning we all woke up very early as to enjoy the very essence of being there. We rented a kayak, boats and had a good dip in the middle of the lake, had fish spa.At 10am we had to leave as the heavens are telling us something and yes it was raining again on the way back and some of our senior members had to rent a horse going down!such fun.Buy whatever you can on the way as this helps the community for their daily income and give a good tip if you can!We will be back and maybe spend more days in the campsite!

We have been organized for a trek for a cause for the children in sitio kule. We gave school supplies, old clothes, etc... About 1:30 pm we started our long hike to the view deck via the kule hunter trail. After 2 hours, we came to the view deck were we had an overview of the whole lake. Another 1 hour was going down the winding path, we rode on a bangka across the riverbank were we would stay for the night. The next day, we had a dip into the waters and tried their kayak. It was a very nice place, nice people and nice sorroundings. Indeed, the crown jewel of the south.

The place is quite hard to get to. From T'boli alone, you need to ride a risky motorcycle for an hour to reach the starting point of the hike. That ride was already exciting enough, especially if you guys decide to do it with three people on one motorcycle, plus the driver. I definitely think it was not completely safe. Once you reach the starting point, hikers will have an orientation on what to expect and what not to do. The hike is 4 hours long, more or less, depending on which trail you take. But once you reach the viewing deck, especially in Kule trail, it will take your breath away. The lake itself is soooo beautiful. The water in the lake is clean and fresh and just amazing. The fresh tilapias and local coffee are super delicious. And the locals really make an effort to keep the camping area and the trail clean. LEAVE NO WASTE BEHIND, please! The effort and the time it took to get here were worth it.

Great for all outdoor enthusiasts, backpackers, mountaineers, trail runners or just a seasoned climber. Lake Holon, as I describe it, is truly a Paradise. You can take two trails, Salacafe Trail and Kule Trail. This place is really really a must-visit for all tourists in Soccsksargen (SOX). You can experience a fusion of outdoor and cultural immersion in one. Lake Holon is declared as a protected area with rich species of flora and fauna. It is considered as one of the Top 100 Sustainable Destinations and to be the cleanest lake in the country.

No wonder this is a must-visit place!
If you want, do contact me, to experience Lake Holon in an awesome way. And get a chance to have photos taken by me and be included in my Kim Tiblani Adventures : Weekend Warriors vlog and album. Yep, I do it during weekends. So see you here on your next trip!
