I would highly recommend Turquoise Safaris. The guides are professional and knowledgeable and they offer an all-round amazing experience. I also appreciated the little things, like the reminder email they send, and the fact that the guides wear red rashies to easily identify themselves in the water.

It was an amazing experience. The team was very friendly and provided a lot of very interesting information on the sea lions. We jumped in the water and swim with the puppies of the ocean for 45mins. Totally recommend.

Our crew really looked after us and were extremely knowledgeable about the sea lions. We were able to swim up close with a number of sea lions. It was a fantastic trip, that I would highly recommend

This is a must do in Jurien Bay! An unforgettable experience from start to finish. The crew were responsive, caring and informative. The sea lions were so active, rolling and playing in their beautiful underwater garden. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Loved this experience! Well worth the value. Staff were helpful and informative, explaining the safety and proper behaviour needed. The sea lions were friendly, swimming up to us, playing with us and each other.

What an amazing experience. We were fortunate to be swimming & interacting with the sea lions almost the entire time we were in the water. They are so playful and inquisitive. The Turquoise Explorer team are excellent. Professional, informative with a great passion for these sea lions and the environment. Our tour group ranged from 3 to grey nomads so whatever your age or swimming experience you will be looked after and catered for. Wet suits and snorkelling gear are provided, as well as a floating ring for the less confident or younger swimmers. I can highly recommend this tour.

I just loved this experience! We went on the 7.30 am tour. Water was a bit chilly (in August), but it was well worth staying in until the end, as one of the sea lions got really close and playful. Once we were back on the boat, two of them were jumping right before the boat. I would definitely book this tour again.

Reading the reviews I was expecting a bit more of a personalized tour but it was that only because of the smaller numbers. Do make sure you find the jetty before having to arrive as it is not well sign posted and as lack of internet, made it hard to find the address on maps. We were a couple sharing the experience with two other groups with kids. As we got on the boat on the 7am trip we had a box given to us and wet suits issued, the motors started up and we were off. With motors going and on our way we got introduced to the all girl crew who were pleasant enough, and a brief boat safety done. Nice sunrise and within 15min and gear given out arrived at our spot. It was then all go, with directions on where we could and couldn't go, with a lot of what not to do, these where for the respect and safety of the Sea Lions, great to see that they stuck to the guide lines which we noted the other company did not towards the end of their trip as we where getting ready to leave. There was a wind chop and current so saw it was a bit tricky for the kids. Getting back on after a good amount of time in the water, killing time watching from a distance the Sea lions on the other side of the area that wasn't for us. But that is nature and we are fine with that. Whilst getting changed and a nice hot drink provided a talk was given by the skipper on the Sea Lions. Then headed back at full speed with loud music playing so that kind of killed the trip home. A shame this is a rushed trip so they can get back and do the second trip soon after.

With a beautiful sunrise as a back drop on a clear and glassy morning we quickly zipped out to the hauling island off Jurien Bay. The cat style craft was comfortable & fluid as we of all ages were kitted up in quality gear for the much anticipated experience ahead. The boat came to anchor, the weather flaps were raised and we were keen to get wet & wild. OMG ! It was amazing! Up close encounters with Sea Lions doesn’t cut it in describing how familiar you get with these inquisitive, energetic and playful mammals. I could have youthfully played all day twirling, peaking, dashing, and frolicking among the sea grass with these endangered Australian Sea Lions.

We had a great time on the 7am tour. It was a little choppy but we still saw lots of playful sea lions. The wetsuits & snorkel gear were good, & the staff weren’t overbearing but we felt safe. Definitely a bit of fun!

Hi! How much does it cost per adult and child? Will life vests be provided for beginner swimmers?

Hi, thanks for your message and sorry for the delayed response.
Cost per Adult to snorkel is $99 and Children under 12 can join for $75. If you would only like to observe from the boat it is $75 for Adults and Children.
We do carry floatation devices in all sizes for anyone who is not super comfortable in the water and one of our crew will also be there able to assist you :)

Hi, thanks for your message!
Turquoise Safaris has recently purchased the competing business Sea Lion Charters and we now run two boats offering Sea Lion Tours out of Jurien Bay.
The only difference between Mojo and Sound Waves is that Mojo can take a maximum of 16 passengers whereas Sound Waves is only licensed to carry 12 at a time.
Other than that the experience, equipment supplied, tour times, departure point etc is all exactly the same.

At what age can kids do the swim with the sea lions (along with a couple of adults of course)?

Hi Amber, thanks for your message.
There are no set age limits for our Sea Lion Tours, as long as you and your kids are comfortable your children are more than welcome to jump in the water for a snorkel.
We carry wetsuits and life vests for extra buoyancy in all sizes, if need be your kids can put a vest on that will help them float.
We are also happy to jump in the water and assist you in any way we can or we can watch your kids on the boat while you get in for a snorkel.

Hi thanks for your message. We offer two options for the sea lion encounter. First being the quick trip which is around 1.5 hours return, cost is $50 per person (Kids under 3 years of age travel free).
Second being the snorkel trip which is around 3 hours return, cost for this trip is $90 per adult and $60 per child. Snorkel equipment and morning tea is provided. We also have water on board of all our trips.
The minimum number of people required is 4, the maximum we can carry is 7.
You can pay cash or card on the day.
We meet at the Jurien Bay Boat Harbour off Harbour Drive, the boat will be parked up at the floating pontoon behind the information bay. Departure times are 8.00am and 2.00pm.
Tours run daily depending on weather conditions and demand. I do have some spots left for snorkel trips on April 1st.
To book in we will need your best contact number and email address. The trip will be confirmed again closer to date.
Turquoise Safaris reserves the right to alter or cancel tours at any time.
