We had driven through town just planning to stop for a bit to stretch our legs and find a toilet and were impressed by the whole path following the sea (12 km)- great for bikes, running, strollers etc. The Jetty was very busy with kids and some adults jumping off the north side into the water. Beach area was busy with families. Lots of people enjoying the beach area. Ample free parking around the area.

The jetty was getting splashed with waves and swell on a cold and wet winter day when we visited. A new beachside cafe is in the process of being built, and there looks to be a number of amenities in the area. I'm sure on a summer's day it would be a nice place to visit and explore.

We took a 2 day stop in Jurien Bay due to the fab write up of the snorkelling trail off the old jetty. After cycling to the jetty and reading the information boards about the building and sinking of the false reefs the evening we arrived we were excited to go the next morning. SO disappointed when we couldn't find any sight or sound of anything, so we went over to the new jetty but too many people were casting fishing rods so it was too risky to snorkel.
After extensive searching on the internet later we picked up a couple of threads from people who had done the same thing as us and the sand had covered over the reef with no visible reef left. This should have been advertised on the info board right by the jetty.

If we had not been led to believe the reef was there we would never have stayed at the caravan park, our site was dirty, no one had bothered to clean the extensive gravel off the shade cloth flooring, there were cigarette butts and plastic on our site and the rubbish bins were more than three quarters full and absolutely reeked and we were 2 spots down!

Left after one night instead of 2!

Won't be stopping there again despite a fab Thai from Joy's kitchen and wonderful lunch from the bakery.

This is a nice little jetty that you can visit off the Jurien Bay Beach. We recently made a rest stop in town and spent a few minutes enjoying a coffee from the Jurien Bay Beach Cafe on the jetty.

Arrived late in the morning and the wind had already really picked up by then so only tourists enjoying views of the jetty, beach and sea when we passed by, no fisherman at that time. Overall a nice little place to see in Jurien Bay, even if just for a few minutes while passing through town.

It might not be too long but the jetty experiences a lot of action, even in winter. We walked out a number of times and there were always fishermen trying to catch dinner. Unfortunately they were only catching blowies. The beach around the jetty is clean and a great spot to swim.

The jetty itself is well made and maintained, however there were way to many folk fishing off it for us to experience the true grandeur of it. Despite all the folk fishing, the sea was a stunning turquoise and crystal clear with views of the reef in the distance, which would make for a lovely spot for sundowners. There is also a lovely playground close by for younger children.

We drove up from Perth to go snorkelling as we'd heard that Jurien bay has a snorkel trail near the old jetty. It's mentioned on the website. But after a search around the old and new jettys all we could find was a whole lot of dead sea grass at the bottom of a sand bank, one small concrete structure and no fish or life at all. I did find a scooter that someone must have thrown off the end of the wharf. Locals said that the sand had covered over everything. There was no mention of the snorkel trail at the info centre or on signage. Dissapointing. The jetty itself might be ok to fish off, we saw some people catching squid at night.

We read about the snorkel trail around the old jetty at Jurien Bay and thought we’d give it a go.
We read the map and waited for low tide.
Unfortunately there was nothing to see. The artificial reef that has been made was either washed away or covered up by sand. The map states that the snorkelling trail is between 2-6 metres deep. There was nothing up to 10- 12 metres deep.
Perhaps the local council should alert people to this tourist non - event

Took the young one to play on the play park at the start of the jetty and kept her entertained while I walked the jetty. Was a bit windy , but that didn’t stop me or nor the keen fisherman right at the end of the jetty. Wasn’t any more room for another rod . Didn’t see or ask if caught anything, but at least they have the opportunity on the jetty .

The jetty area looked quite new. There were a few tables by the playground at the base of the Jetty. The Jetty itself extended a bit out into the water. There were quite a few people fishing there and you are able to see schools of fish swimming around the Jetty. I would guess that other sea creatures from the marine park would be observable from here too.
Nice place for a stop and to enjoy some sea views.
