Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the high point of the Great Ocean Road with sweeping views of the ocean, bush and the approach to Apollo Bay 15 km along the road. The promontory often provides a viewing area for whales at the right time of the year and swirling wild seas. Worth a stop on your travels.

Visited on Wednesday 28th February. We stopped at this lookout for stunning views along the coast tine. There is a brass plaque there giving the history associated with this part of The Great Ocean Road.

The Cape Patton lookout is a great place to see the diverse landscape and magnificent shoreline along the GOR. As you head west on the GOR, the terrain turns from green majestic "hills" to time worn chiseled sandstone sculptures. Cape Patton is a prime example of the green "hills"..

Its a good place to stop for scenic photos of the coast be be under no illusion this is nothing more than a road stop lookout for cars and busses doing the Great Ocean Road tour. The stop will give impressive views of the coast but in contrast to the Twelve Apostles this place has nothing on them. It is worth a stop for no more than 10 minutes.

As we drove the Great Ocean Road, we stopped at this lookout for the view. It is on the side of the road so very easy to access.

Cape Patton offers spectacular views over Apollo Bay. There’s a small parking area marked by a stone hedge type boundary. Worth the stop for a quick photo.

Just off the main road this offers a lovely view down the coast.
It was a cold and windy day so we didn’t stay long.

We were lucky to stop here for yet more views of this epic coast. You can see for miles, the ocean meeting the shore along the Great Ocean Road.
