About
Vall de Núria mountain resort, with a unique wealth of nature and landscape, is located in the Eastern Pyrenees, within the municipal area of Queralbs. It sits above one of the highest points of the Ribes Valley and it's surrounded by peaks of almost 3,000 metres from which flow a multitude of water sources and torrents. We invite you to glory in this spectacular mountain landscape using an unusual form of transport: the rack railway. It covers a distance of 12.5 km and takes you up an incline of over 1000 metres.

It is true that the Zipper reaches the same enclosure/block of the Sanctuary. Included in the price is a quiet and fast trip to the top of a Pyrenean mountain, the Coma of... (I don't remember). On top are... A hostel of Joventut!!. Nearby Pyrenean flora.
The temple is beautiful, the chapel is also beautiful and the hermitage.
Lockers for backpacks are available.
It says there's dispensary.
Part of the tourist bauble shop there are honey, Camprodon cookies, and others, which you can buy in Barcelona, but other things you only see there. And there are clothes.
Self-service restaurant with acceptable food and Cabin serving fast food from the concessionaire company of the Generalitat Aramark.
The horses and boats, whoever can, is paid for separately.
It looks like there's a snack bar.
On weekdays there is calm.
Almost everything on level foot, except for the upper chapel and the Virgin.
Mal:
To cross the Zipper tracks and go to the cable car there are high steps.
A tremendous air, but it lasts better than in Barcelona Area.

Only 110 kilometers from Roses and 1h45 by car.....a magnificent setting.....go to Ribes de Freser and take the train....ask for timetables...we it was 11:16 a.m. and the one before 2 hours.....the return time can be modified at Nuria....it's easy and always someone to advise you. Don't hesitate to take the cable car! when the train arrives....many walks and activities for children.....everything is perfect! Easy parking in front of the station....can be a little more complicated in season. In short, a day with a little freshness far from mass tourism

Vall de Núria (Núria Valley in English) is a natural valley located in Ripollès Region, in Catalan Pyrenees. You can arrive here with a hike from Queralbs or with the rack railway from Queralbs or Ribes de Freser. In the place there are a lot of activities to do in summer and in winter: walks, hikes and pony trails in summer, and sky and a children's park in winter. I came here with my 8 years old daughter last December and she enjoyed playing, running and going to the children's park. It was a wonderful experience for her on Christmas days. In fact, we returned twice and we caught the cable car and we did a little walk around the main building of the valley. My daughter liked it very much! Really a place to come with children and adults. Also, there is a pragmatic bar, where you can relax and eat or drink something, visit a little exposition about the history of this valley, or stay in the hotel. A great holidays in Christmas to come with children!

We got here via the Nuria valley rack railway from Ribes de Freser. It was a pleasant journey with stunning views the whole way up to the Vall de Nuria.
It seemed to be a day for school visits as the place was packed with school kids and their noise.
The sun was out when we arrived but it quickly turned to rain and mist and then snow. We had all 4 seasons in one day in Vall de Nuria.
A spectacular place that's definitely worth a visit.
Truly romantic for trekking and a picnic.
There were only 2 food options available at the hotel on the day we visited which was disappointing so maybe walk with snacks / energy bars as a back-up.
The lake is lovely and picturesque as is the church.

Be very careful with reservations. If you make a mistake by mistake, as is our case when booking the tickets, we mistakenly buy 2 more tickets back, as they will not refund your money. We talked about it with a lady in person at the Ribes Enllaç office before boarding the rack railway, and she told us that there was no problem, that we should send an email that would be passed on to administration, and everything would be fixed. After 13 days of insisting a lot, Mr. Roger answered that the claim was out of time, when we made it before going up to Nuria and the purchase had been the day before.
Deplorable attention and management.

A beautiful hotel/resort in the Pyrenees. We had a forward facing room with magnificent views of the mountain and ski slops. Nice restaurant and bar area however the bar area was a bit small when big groups are there and it is a bit tired.
Would love to come here again with our children and grandchildren.

Last October we visit the Vall de Núria to escape the heat in the city.
We buy tickets for the zip-up-down train at the same ticket offices in Ribes. They cost us 32€/per person. Trains passed one every hour both on and off.
It is an incredible place to walk with a simple path and other possible routes for the more daring.

Vall de Núria is a very known valley in Catalan Pyrenees, near Queralbs, a little town in Ripollès Region, in the North of Catalonia. Really, it is a wonderful place, from where you can do a lot of walks, trekkings and hikes, really a fantastic place if you are a mountain-lover. We came here with friends to do trekking in the surrounding mountains. Really it was a wonderful experience and we could see amazing views of Pyrenees, especially in the border with France. In fact, there is a hike called "La Olla de Núria", where you can enjoy a lot. Also, you can go to other peaks in the surroundings, visit the Sanctuary and the little church of Sant Gil or so some family activities like riding a poni, go to the lake or only walk in th surroundings. Very recommendable to go and stay, at least a night, in the hotel/apartments in th valley.

Go up on the rack railway and see nature in its purest form. Great to spend a day with the family. Horseback riding and eating there is a good price. Bring warm clothes as it is cool

We took this special train from Ribes de Fresser to this gorgeous valley at the feet of the Pyrenes mountains. We also took the cable car even higher.
The views were breathtaking.
Bring a picnic and spend some time there. Gorgeous

Hi I intend to stay overnight at the ski hotel there, but coming from overseas with huge luggage and 2 kids, I am worried if it is easy to travel on the public train from Barcelona to Nuria valley. My other option is a day tour from Barcelona. Is it worth staying overnight? Thank you all!
