Particularly recommend for engineers. If you take the tunnel route (currently compulsory due to road works), bring a torch, the installed lights are not working. don't miss the other old bridge further down the valley!
The narrow rock formation above Göschenen has always blocked access to the Gotthard and hence prevented access to the south. For this reason, it was extremely difficult to build a bridge there.
