Wow - what an amazing time capsule. Although reconstructed in the 19th century, this impressive castle is full of such detail and historical artefacts. We went on a small group-guided tour which leaves at set times. Both the outside and inside of the castle is stunning. My favourites were the knights armoury which was made for a 2 m 30... More

Great views of course but if you climb up go to the tour. In German but at least the guide we had was very easy to follow even with my less than mediocre German. However you get a leaflet providing the most important details in your native tongue (they had Finnish??!!) and the tour guide fills in facts in English.

Walked up, didn't go inside (castled out). Stopped for lunch at their outdoor restaurant - great views, beautiful exterior, pretty crowded, lots of children.

We had some holidays with my family between the Rhin and the Mossel rivers and visited some castle. I have some little girls which are not so fond of castles (at least after the second start to complain) but I love them. After visiting some, I can say Cochem is one of the most impressive ones you can visit, from... More

We had a great guide that explained the history of the castle. There is a lot of walking and hills to navigate. The view from the castle is spectacular. If you are in the area take a tour of this castle.

Enjoyed the castle and the tour, wonderful views of the valley from here. The tour guide did a good job in English and was quite informative. A must do if you are in Cochem the views alone are worth it. It was an easy walk down to town from the castle.

The castle is located in Cochem, near the banks of the Mosel, the surrounding town is very picturesque and touristy, there are lots of cafes, pretty restaurants and small shops to wander around. The castle at the top of the hill, is well worth the climb, just for the views alone. You can only take guided tours here, and they... More
