You can drive your car up the hill to a parking lot and then have an easy 10-minutes walk to the monument more or less on top of a hill. Nothing really very special about the monument, and all information is just in German, but you do get a lovely expansive view over the surrounding countryside. Good to visit when... More

Beautiful 19th century monument that offers stellar views of the river valley and various towns around. Great pictures of the fast ICE train speeding along by the river too! They are finishing up a better quality observatory area which will help. It's windy up here so bring a jacket!

Opposite the Tiergarten Zoo & 2 shopping centres, plus lots of shops. We didn't go up/ inside, but took lots of photos from the outside. The new building nxt to it is unfortunately covered in scaffolding. Take bus 100 (right outside) to Alexandreplatz to see the sights. An all day ticket allows you to hop on, hop off.

Impressive monument with great views of the surroundings. The monument itself reminds me of the one at Deutsches Eck in Koblenz (where the Mosel and Rhine rivers meet) whereas the views are like the ones at Ehrenbreitstein Fortress which looks down on Koblenz. There are view facilities at the top as a new visitor center is under construction and it... More

A group of us was coming back from a visit to Bukeburg Castle and decided to make a side trip to this monument. You drive up the mountain, park and walk the rest of the way. The road to the top was closed due to construction. The main attraction is the giant statue of Kaiser Wilhem. However, the added bonus... More

This place had to offer a beautiful view over Minden and Porta Westfalica and in the same time could learn bit from the history about Emperor William to whom the Monument has been raised for.

If (when) you visit the Kaiser Wilhelm Denkmal (Monument) in Porta Westfalica, you can see the entire city from above. It's very beautiful and relaxing. The only downside is that if you don't speak German, you won't understand any of the plaques placed about the monument.

This is a staple for the average resident of the area - we used to come here all the time - even at New Year's to let off the fireworks. This "mountain range" runs horizontally across northern germany. It is cut through by the river "Weser", going from north to south. They have put the monument at one end of... More

We came to this monument as my Grandad had been stationed around here after the war and he wanted some photos of what it was like now. The monument is huge but we couldn't read the information about it as it was only in German unfortunately. The views are breathtaking, you get a 360 degree view of the surrounding area.... More
