We took the Drachenfels Railway up to the Drachenfels Plateau. The views over the Rhine are panoramic and lovely on a good day. We then walked up to the castle ruins (not really much to see in terms of ruins, but more nice views). Down...More

This is last of the high cliffs downstream in the Rhine Valley. When you climb up you might hear the sirens singing and see the vague remains of the dragon Sigurd killed. The view is fantastic and it’s worth climbing 800 feet uphill. There is...More

Just been to a wedding in this place. Food was excellent, the view breath taking. I believe the staff could be friendlier although they were fine but not at the level of this place. Definitely worth going for the food.

Yes we were very lucky and got great views across Bonn and down the Rhine from up by the ruined castle right at the very top. Unless you are a hiker or very fit, we suggest you take the easy way out and use the...More

Drachenfels is in the town of Koenigswinter, you can take the train to get there from the north or south. The climb up to the ruin is steep, and busy, but the view over the Rhine valley is superb once you get up there. Have...More

Take the regional express train to Koenigswinter, then follow the tourist trail(and the donkeys).
