The ruins are very interesting. Walk up if in good shape. If not take tram for 9 euros. Great views and history!

The view from the restaurant used to be good but it is now under renovation. My suggestion is to drive up to the Petersberg hotel and drink coffee at the cafe where the view is also very nice

It's best to take the 'train' to get to the top. On a clear day you can see for miles. Below the great old River with excursion ships and big barges going up and down. Walking down the hill you come past a private residence....More

Take the regional express train to Koenigswinter, then follow the tourist trail(and the donkeys).
