This must be the last word in historical thermes. It is at a level much, much higher than the Friedrichsbad in Baden Baden. Take the stairs down from the reception area to the bottom floor, the original area built in 1844 in a style right before Art Nouveau. The dining room and its stained glass is breathtaking; perhaps the most... More

After a walk in the forest we decided to spent a few hours at this fine relaxing spa and sauna. It was very relaxing, clean and friendly staff. My favourite was the roof top pool. Lovely hot water and views over the Schwarzwald. Well worth a visit when in town.

Lovely inside, well kept etc. I didn't enjoy the experience myself as I was unaware it was a nudist spa.

Palais Thermal is a top rated spa and deserves its reputation. The building architecture is great to see and the spa is a bonus. The pool upstairs is outdoors and worth the price of admission, especially on a cold, snowy day like when I was there. You are bathing in warn water (37 degrees or so) while snow id falling... More

Don't let the dresscode (or should I say lack of) bother you. This thermal spa has everything you would want. A great variety of pools in the old bath area, plus a nice variety of steam rooms, saunas and pools in the upper floors. The rooftop pool is a definite highlight. If you come here and intend keeping your clothes... More

We drove to Bad Wildbad to spend our Friday afternoon at Palais Thermal. We stayed for over five hours which passed quickly and did not allow sufficient time to sample all of the rooms. We were thoroughly impressed by the spacious layout on multiple floors. By luck, that day was one of seven days during the year when there is... More

I visited yesterday and I was positively impressed. It is a large place, with many saunas and tubs to relax. The tub on the roof I think it's the main attraction, but you are allowed only to enter naked. I was not used to go naked, but it was a good experience. Hope to have the chance to visit again.

We visited with the intention of spending a couple of hours to unwind and recover from some heavy duty tourist stuff and driving; in the event we stayed for 5 hours! The whole complex is stunning, ranging from the most beautiful original tiled pools, spas and rest areas, surrounding a beautiful lounge area adjacent to a small cafe where you... More

Whenever we are in a German town we see if it has a spa, look at what is on offer before deciding to visit, the recent visit to Palais Thermal with my wife did not disappoint. The old and beautifully decorated baths are on the ground floor, whilst swimwear is permitted in this area, when we went it was about... More

We rocked up with our bathers expecting to enjoy the bottom floor, but it's closed for renovations. One pool is open for non-naked people, but no Jacuzzis. You have to strip off butt naked in the top floor to get bubbles. I never thought I would (or could), but we took the naked plunge and enjoyed it. Staff and other... More
