Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Danube Gorge by Kelheim is breathtakingly beautiful. And like all such places it gets very crowded on nice days as everybody wants to see it. If you go there be aware it might be tricky to find a parking place although there are plenty of them.
I personally parked far a way and walked. It not only allowed me to park comfortable and for free but also let me balance the time spent in crowds with the lonely walking in the beautiful forests in the neighbourhood.
I truly loved this place and will definitely come back soon.

A nice boat trip on the Danube at its narrowest point from Weltenburg monastery to Kelheim. Refreshing in the hot summer.

Too narrow for River cruise boats, it is best to pay for a local cruise from Kelheim to Weltenburg Abbey for the interesting scenery.

I loved this boat ride through the Danube Narrows, despite the extreme heat. We found a bit of a breeze on the bow of the boat. Thankfully, they sell cold drinks and you can also order food. The rock formations are stunning. This as an optional excursion with our Viking cruise. We would highly recommend this tour.

We went here as a side excursion with Viking. Nice to see both sides of the river. The abbey itself had one of the best altars we have ever seen. The monastory is down to seven Benedictine monks and can not afford to go any lower. The short film is interesting and gives a bio of the seven monks. We walked to our buses after the tour a little distance. They do have a place you can stay. It is mainly for people facing problems or wanting to get away to solitude.

The boat ride through the gorge was very nice. Comfortable boat with full food service. Unfortunately the water level was too low to go all the way to the Abbey.Without that, not sure if its worth it.

We visited Weltenberg Abbey as a side excursion from our Viking River Cruise. The boat ride thru the Danube narrows was just gorgeous and the Abbey on the river bank is truly a slice of Heaven. After touring the Abbey, enjoy a beer and pretzel in the bier garden. We could have stayed there for hours.

The Donaudurchbruch is the tightest part of the Danube you can find. A return ship trip there is really nice as you are sourounded by limestone cliffs and trees.

The church is awesome and the beer was great. Hard to believe the Brewery has been there since 1050. A lot of history in the grounds.
