We had heard about the church and decided to stop. It was amazing to see all of the thank you and dedication plaques on the outside of the church. The square where the church is located is also worth a short visit, as is the larger church nearby.

1591, Duke William V summoned the Jesuits to Altötting. The present Church was 1690 constructed. July 1773 the Jesuit order was abrogated, in October the monastery already had to be cleared. 1774 Pastors House founded. 1781 Emperor Karl Theodor founded the Priory orde of Malta. Church and monastery were left to this spiritual knighthood. 1808 The orde was also lifted.... More
