Absolutely the worst customer service
Jan. 2019 • Family
I need to write 2 separate reviews. One for the terrible customer service in town and one for the nice instructor we hired at Sollereck.

We stopped at the store in Obertsdorf town and the lady who was working was EXTREMELY rude and unhelpful. She was not willing to work with us as we were trying to decide if there was a suitable ski school for my son and what location he should ski at. I wish I had her name as the manager needs to know how terrible her customer service skills are.
We went to our hotel and right across the way was this same company and the men there were very helpful. We ended up putting my son in an all day school at Sollereck and he had a good time. His instructor was wonderful and very helpful, kind and respectful.

Best in town!

We have been to Neue Skischule for 3 years now.

My daughter learned skiing there and we have been coming back ever since. They have their main office near the ground station of the Nebelhorn cable car.

Newcomers will train at Söllereck, but they also do trips to the other skiing areas based on your preferences & skill level. Besides Ski they also do Snowboard and Cross-Country.

They take great care of the kids and have many little international guests from Netherlands, Luxemburgh, Switzerland, UK etc. and also have people that for instance speak Russian. At Söllereck they have a children area (much better than those of the other ski schools) where they can safely do their first steps. Once they are ready (usually on the second or third day), they will go on the piste and do some small initial steps there. At the end of the week, on Fridays, they have a small race where kids of the different groups do a race and have a nice winners ceremony with certificate, medals and everything for each of the kids.

Adults can also train with them and the also offer a wide range of options based on your skills.

Trainers (male and female) are very friendly and easy going people.

Well organised

Both our new skier - aged 11 and an English only speaker and our four teenagers found their instructors very good and advanced their skiing over five days of lessons.
Kit we hired was first class too and school location is very close to main Nebelhorn Lift so we didn't have far to walk in our ski boots with all our clobber if we went up this main hill. Indeed with three linked cable cars taking you right through to the highest summit in the resort you didn't really need to go anywhere else. Except that our novice was taken over to the lower Sollereck slopes and we wanted to experience other slopes ourselves you could happily stay on the Nebelhorn all week.

'Fantastic'

An intermediate skier, lacking in confidence. I booked into the Neue Skischule in Sollereck for 2 mornings. It was brilliant, the lessons were for 2 hours costing 20 euro's and we had 5 people in our group. The lesson started with fairly gentle blue runs and exercises to get a feel for turns and parallel skiing. Then we ventured up in the gondola so we could ski down a challenging long blue run. The instructor was very encouraging and professional.

Great for kids!

First time skiing , my 11 year old son was enrolled at Neue Ski Schule, we came across them in the town of Oberstdorf when we were looking for ski hire. Staff were just wonderful. My son was flying down the slopes in his first afternoon and the staff were very attentive and encouraging. There were a lot of very small children there and it was very professionally run. The language barrier was tough at times as our German is so bad! but we got along with hand signals and some of the staff could speak a little English. We met an instructor from Scotland on our last day and she was lovely. Children were given a medal and certificate on their last day and my son was very proud of himself. He often asks if we can return as he loved Oberstdorf so much.
