There's nothing bad about this Church, it's just unremarkable. True, there's a Tintoretto, but, to be fair, he churned out pieces like this one by the dozen. Move on-nothing to see here!

This is a beautiful church, well worth a stop, in fact, you should go here instead of the domKirk as there's a lot of construction going on there and you may not get as wonderful of a view as you're willing at this church. It's...More

Discovered this church by accident. It's fairly plain looking from the outside and it could be easy to walk past and there weren't throngs of people around it like the main cathedral in Bamberg. The plain outside revealed a stunningly beautiful interior. Words (and the...More

Walked in here while exploring Bamberg on foot, and the architecture inside is simply stunning. One of the most beautiful and ornate buildings we saw while in Europe.

In 1325 the wealthy merchants of Bamberg built the Church of Our Lady, known simply as the Obere Pfarre (Upper Parish) of the Kaulberg (in distinction from the Old St Martin Lower Parrish church once in the Maximilianplatz). The church is architecturally noteworthy for its...More

Lovely baroque church on one of the Bamberg hills, just out of the centre. The alter was really stunning and it was so peaceful away from the old town's tourist hoards.

This Catholic church, I believe that this is the only church in gothic style in Bamberg. The nickname Obere Pfarre (Parish High) comes from its position in the top Kaulberg. We absolutely loved this three nave church that seems undeservedly to get no recognition from...More
